Survival Horror Game “Amy” To Plague PlayStation Network

Lexis Numerique is an independent studio based in France that was founded in 1990. While the company has worked on a wide variety of games from thrillers to dating-sims, they also own shares in sister company, VectorCell, headed up by Paul Cuisset, who created the Moto Racer series of racers.

VectorCell are currently working on a game by the name of Amy, a survival horror/adventure game for the PlayStation 3 on PlayStation Network. Amy takes place in the year 2034, after the world is plagued by a series of natural disasters, and the outbreak of a virus.

You play as Lana, a girl who wakes up in the town of Silver City (Midwest, USA), after it’s been hit by a comet, amidst the virus plague, which has turned the people into wild creatures. Lana meets with an autistic eight-year-old girl by the name of Amy, with “curious powers” and tries to escape the virus plague with her.

Amy doesn’t have a release date yet, but we’ll keep an eye on the game and update you as we learn more about it.

    A plague and a comet? Hmm… I smell a correlation.

    june release supposedly.

and it’s actually a timed-exclusive. it’ll be coming out out for other platforms later on unless things change.

for some reason, the picture made me think of galerians [ash]. what a game that was :(.

The world needs more survival horror games!
Though the idea of a plague-causing comet seems a little ridiculous to me, the rest of this game seems interesting enough for me to want to play it.

I kind of thought that the plague and virus were unrelated but happened around the same time. But I guess the comet have hit a specific spot or the tremor something could have released a virus into the city.

Well, that would be a little better. If the comet and plague are unrelated incidents that occur around the same time, that just makes me want this game even more.

A comet turning people into monsters, that’s so 1993.

  • MisterDandylion

mmmm This totally sounds like my kind of game but with what approach?

Since it’s a survival-horror you can maybe expect a formula similar to Silent Hill (Shattered Memories anyone?)

    Interesting… Interesting indeed…

That’s weird. I haven’t seen anything about that. In fact, a few articles I’ve seen over the last few days use the word “exclusive.” Do you have a source?

      • malek86

Says so on the Destructoid article. I don’t expect to see anymore info about that before the PSN release though.

Any word on what kind of genre it is? This piqued my interest, but only if it was either an adventure-type game a la classic Resident Evil… or even oldie Sierra/LucasArts-style adventure. I just hope it’s not another FPS.

Actually, I don’t think I’d mind this being an FPS. This is a totally different environment from CoD or something. Also, it doesn’t seem like you’ll playing as some gung ho protagonist with guns blazing. I think it’ll be even creepier, since you can’t see what’s behind you. Not to mention that you’re probably going to have limited ammo. And that green thing is likely going to get all up in your face.

And you have to protect an 8 year old child, that will probably get all F.E.A.R. on you. Why are children in the horror genre always so scary?

Sounds interesting. I will be downloading this.

The girl reminds me of Heather (from SH3) and the monster design is very uninspired IMO.

Still i’ll keep my eye on this.

Amy? At least they could have come up with a better, creepier sounding name. Also the screenshots (as of now) makes it looks like an inferior version of Dead Space, so hopefully the trailer will look more impressive.
