Gungnir Makes Its Video Debut

By Ishaan . April 8, 2011 . 1:34am

Sting and Atlus have two RPGs in development together: Gungnir and Gloria Union. Famitsu ran a debut trailer for the former today, which you can watch above.

The trailer introduces a few characters we’ve already talked about: Julio (a Fencer class), who’s the game’s protagonist, Alyssa, a timid girl with a mysterious past, Elise (a Valkyrie class), and Ragnus, Julio’s step-brother.

Gungnir is a turn-based strategy RPG with a tactical gauge system that allows you to change the  order of turns in battle. You may recall that Radiant Historia allows for something similar with its own battle system.

As always, you can read more about the game using our Gungnir tag. April 14th will see the release of a demo on the PlayStation Network in Japan if you’re keen on taking a Japanese build of the game for a spin.

That, is a fantastic trailer. Sting have officially won me over for Gungnir now. :D

Keep them coming ^_^. Now let’s just hope these games get a US release.

  • I’ve always liked the art style Sting has employed for this type of game. Did I see a little bit of Disgaea’s influence during a scene from a battle there? I’m putting this one on my “must have” list!

Oh, yeah. That’s a Sting UI alright.

I do hope we see this one stateside. I still want Blaze Union.

So far, I’m loving this game :D

I had good times with Riviera: The Promised Land (which I loved), Hexyz Forces (Which I liked) and even with Knights In The Nightmare (A good game indeed but man…. after mission 40 something I simply put down the game and said screw it -__-)

Does someone sees any artistic influence in the artwork of the game? :)

  • The 14th cannot come fast enough.

    I don’t really like that UI……it just annoys me…

Hmmm, not liking the designs. Which is weird because I liked Sting’s previous designs. :| Oh well, I’m always up for a SRPG or Sting game. :3
