And Urasawa and his work deserves all that praise and more. Which reminds me I really need to start buying the 20th Century Boys manga. I friggin’ love Monster both the anime and the manga and the 1 volume of Pluto I have is amazing so far. :D

And House of Five Leaves Yes very good. If you don’t buy the volumes at least watch the anime on Funimations’s site for free with it’s rockin’ opening that I love so much:

I really need to buy Ayako too. OSAMU TEZUKA is one of my fav’s mangaka and as a history major the story seems so cool. I love that time period in Japan it’s very interesting and so full of change.

You have very good taste in manga :)

Naoki Urasawa and his work both deserve it. 20th Century Boys and Monster are two of my favorite manga series to date.

Urasawa definitely deserves it. While 20th CB does have its flaws, it’s still quite a page turner and a very solid series. The antagonist actually scared me and gave me nightmares if I stopped at the cliffhangers.

This is all planned by Friend :D

Good to see that the man’s nominated for more awards.

For some reason I still think Naoki Urasawa deserves more recognition than he has now. Probably because he’s got one of the best storytelling styles I’ve ever seen. Hopefully he shall won everything and rule the world!

Time to read Billy Bat now.

      Amen for that

    Just one thing…

    Urasawa, not Urusawa.

This goes to everyone in the comments too!

And here I thought copy/paste would save me from such embarrassment…I’m terrible with names! Thanks for pointing that out <3

It certainly deserves it. Of course there are a large number of manga that deserve recognition but we can at least start here.

The first half of 20th Century Boys was unique and gripping. It went downhill fast after the change in era, though. I like Urasawa, though. Monster and Pluto are my favorites of his.

You mean when it hit the Friend era part? Because the Kanna part was still pretty good and gripping. The Friend era part did lose some steam, but it was still really good, especially the comeback of a certain someone. :3

    Oh yes. Definitely deserved it.

    On that note, “Kenji-kun, asobimashou!”

Awesome, awesome manga. I should get round to finding where I put the DVD’s and watching the live action films.

Words can not explain how amazing this series is. Completely blown away volume after volume, the grittiness, characters, dialogue, and revelations were all top notch. If anyone can get their hands on this series, I would bet on it that it would worth your time.
