imageIn Japan, there’s an incentive for Monster Hunter fans to get Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on Xbox 360. This version of the game includes download codes for Ryu and Chun-Li costumes.

The codes go live as soon as Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, the retail version, launches in Japan on June 30 and expire on September 26, 2012. Capcom specifically says the PS3 version will not include Monster Hunter Frontier codes and no comparable promotion has been announced.

Here’s another look at the goodies that only come with the 3,990 yen ($48) Xbox 360 game.

  • At least the female hunter doesn’t have the same thigh size as chun-li’s

    • Guest

Chun Li could probably drop the average monster to the ground yelping and rolling in serious pain with a roundhouse kick from her Godzilla thighs

  • Hey, Capcom. You should probably fix your calendars. They’re stuck in 2007.

  • malek86

Yeah, I would be pretty surprised if the PS3 version included download codes for Monster Hunter Frontier, considering it’s not even on the console.

  • Woah, primary colors edition.

  • brooklyngamer86

    Big woop.

  • Tom_Phoenix

Well, I guess that is one way to ensure sales of a game released on a platform that most people in Japan don’t care about.

Give it time. Like most exclusive DLC, this will probably make it over on PS3 as well. Sure, PS3 doesn’t have the game, but PS3 doesn’t have Idolmaster in America either, and PS Home got costumes for that. Who knows, only time will tell.

  • Draparde

seems cool for frontier. though even if it Was in the US i probably still wouldn’t be too excited about getting it. just not too into either of those costumes xD

  • Finally, Xbox 360 will overtake the PlayStation 3 in sales

  • KyoyaHibari

Lol do Japanese people even OWN 360s as far as I know, games we get here that are multiconsole are PS3 exclusive over there (Dark Souls, DW7, etc)
