Threads of Fate Joins Dino Crisis 2 On PSOne Classics This Week

By Ishaan . April 17, 2011 . 11:58pm

Shortly after being rated by the ESRB, Dino Crisis 2 has already been officially announced for a PlayStation Network release — it’s coming this week. It isn’t alone, though; Threads of Fate, a role-playing game by Square is accompanying it.

Threads of Fate lets you choose between two characters searching for an ancient relic, each with their own story. Mint wants to use it for revenge, while Rue wants to use it to revive a dead friend. While it’s classified as an RPG, Threads of Fate looks almost like a brawler-cum-platformer, rather than a role-playing game.

    Regina is gorgeous ^^

  • Yukito

Threads of Fate….. man, this brings me back. NOW…… for the most important PS1 game of them all, Where the hell is Dragon Warrior 7? )=<

  • Man, I always loved Threads of Fate. I’m definitely gettin’ it!

  • Yes!! Threads of Fate!! Add Chrono Cross and I have all my favorite PS1 RPGs.
Except for Dragon Warrior VII and Beyond the Beyond. Lol.

  • PersonaSpace

I’m excited. I first saw the game when it was still being called Dew Prism for the US. I can’t wait to have this. I never had a chance to play it so I’m looking forward to putting it on my PS3. It’s perfect for it.

  • oh wow i really liked this game back in the day. a good choice to buy this week

  • theoriginaled

If you’ve never played this, this game has better more heartfelt characters than almost anything else square ever made. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

  • Heard it’s decent. So might as well give it a go.

  • Looks like Squareenix really plans to release all of their PS1 games.
    That ist goot.
I never got to beat Brave Fencer Musashi and both Saga games.

    • Zero_Destiny

Oh I loved the Mussashi games. The second one had Gainax work on the intro if I remember correctly. Such an awesome into too. :)

      • M’iau M’iaut

Brave Fencer needs a release perhaps alongside Ergheiz. Musashi is the one long traded in game I’ve wanted back in the collection but not enough to pay ebay premiums for.

        • Zero_Destiny

Oh Brave Fencer was such a great game. Brings back fond memories ^_^ It was a lot better than Samurai Legends if you ask me, but SL wasn’t terrible ether. But Oh man Braver Fencer good times. I still got my game with the case, manual, disc and even the FFVIII demo. ;3 Not to brag though. lol I’d love to see it on PSN then I could play it on the go or it’ll at least give me an excuse to replay it and in 16:9 this time. :)

    • puchinri

Are any of those three on PSN yet? I really wanted to play Saga 2. and Musashi.

      • Zero_Destiny

No sadly none are. But SE has been on a PSN frenzy. So maybe we can luck out after all. :)

        • puchinri

          Ahh. Figures ;u;
But that’s true. They’ve got most of the popular classics up now, so I am hoping and wishing for most everything else. C’:

  • This game is amazing, I highly recommend it.

I’m sad that it never got a sequel, since the ending sets up for one, too.

    Ah well, such is life.

  • You mean that game that is on the back of the instruction book of Legend of Mana that I never got to play? Cool.

  • Pichi

Yes!! Finally, thank you SE for releasing it!! I’m pleased to know I can finally play the game.

  • Christian Wright

threads of fate!!! the game my parents didnt get me back in the day!

  • Threads of Fate and Arcana Heart 3 on the same day?
Why can’t we always have such grand Tuesdays?

  • Wait, Threads of Fate -and- Dino Crisis 2 are both going to be out this week on PSN? Is it Christmas and I didn’t notice? O_O

  • puchinri

I remember back in middle school when my friend wanted me to borrow the game from her. I should have. And I should have kept it so we’d be equal when she kept my Chrono Cross…

But I plan on getting it now! My PS3 is becoming more and more of a PS1 machine. Which is never a bad thing.

The dialogue sounds so 90s, I love it~

I’ll definitely be picking this up. Just need to buy another points card. :D
