European Deus Ex: Human Revolution Collector’s Edition Adds A Play Arts Figure

By Ishaan . April 19, 2011 . 9:03am

Deus Ex: Human Revolution already has a regular edition and an Augmented Edition that comes with an art book, motion graphic novel, extra in-game weapons and missions, and a bonus DVD with a making of movie, animated storyboard for the trailer, and the game’s soundtrack. Now, there’s a third edition.

This is Collector’s Edition, and it’s exclusive to select European territories. Beyond that, Square Enix say that even in Europe, the Collector’s Edition will be very limited. As you can see, it comes in a different box. Let’s take a look at what’s inside.

What you’re looking at is everything that’s available in the Augmented Edition, as well as a Play Arts Kai — Square Enix’s line of action figures — figure of Adam Jensen, Human Revoluion’s protagonist. Here’s a closer look at Adam:

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution Collector’s Edition will be released in Europe on August 26th. Australia and New Zealand get the collector’s box a day earlier on August 25th.

    That looks somewhat expensive…

The augment edition cost £59.99…so I wonder how much the collector’s edition will be.

the SE boutique has it for €99.00 on PS3 and 360 and the PC version for €79.00…

Witcher 2 Collector’s Edition still gives out more stuff for the same price (if this game’s CE indeed costs the same), therefore a MUCH better incentive for me.

Plus, you get a freaking BUST of Geralt for that game.

Not only that, but the Premium Edition also has a lot more stuff than your usual Limited Edition, and only costs 30/35€… already preordered, obviously.

I wonder why is it that some companies can afford to put out great editions at prices like that. And I don’t think a game like The Witcher 2 won’t be very ambitious in size and scope. It sure puts the whole “development costs too much” argument in a different perspective.

Update: The CE costs 100 euros according to Amazon.de

Even I have to say Play Arts are pricey…(still wanting that Ichigo and Rukia one, though my younger kid cousin did get one, should have borrowed it)…But this figure looks cool…the glasses.
