Reminisce With A Reminiscences of Haruhi Suzumiya Trailer

By Ishaan . April 21, 2011 . 3:42pm

Last month, Namco Bandai pushed The Reminiscences of Suzumiya Haruhi from March to May 12th, citing quality improvements as the reason for the delay. While you wait, here’s a new trailer with some footage of the game.

The Reminiscences of Haruhi Suzumiya takes place after Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya film, but the story occurs in a parallel world without an SOS Brigade.

Since Namco Bandai have been doing rather well for themselves on the PSP of late, it isn’t hard to see why The Reminiscences of Haruhi Suzumiya is both a PlayStation 3 and a PSP game. In a surprise twist, you can even transfer save data between the two systems to continue making progress.

  • I love how the game looks, it’s so close to toradora’s (wich was simply awesome, any game after an anime you would want shold be like toradora for PSP)… but… wouldnt it be too short? it seems it starts at like, the middle of the movie… and it will have the same fixed ending i imagine? (since it should go as the books) aghh T_T i want to know…

The problem with this is that there is still a lot more in the world of haruhi after these events, not like when ToraDora, it was released after the anime ended, and you could finish it however you wanted…

You could change the ending to be different from the anime in ToraDora? God I hated the ending.

      • kroufonz

of course you can, you want to endup with ami or minorin?

        • CleruTesh

Minorin I guess. I was honestly rooting for Taiga, right up until the end. She leaves for a year without saying goodbye, I’d be like “Screw you! I got options!”

Well said, sir. Your comment should be on top.

      • Yep, you can even end with your teacher (or even sacrificing your love life so your glasses friend, forgot his name, could end up with the president girl, forgot her name xD)

Ami and minorin, i wanted the anime to end up with Minorin T_T, the minorin’s ending on the game was good, but Ami’s was simply perfect, after that, Ami became my favorite D:

Sounds cool. Wish I knew Japanese.

Me too. I’ve spent like 7 years of my life learning English… then I realize some great games don’t even get localized in English… Had I known that before I would’ve learned Japanese as well. Being 23 I think it’s kind of late for me (at least for learning kanjis).
@WilArms I might start learning… the pregnant Taiga ending sounds interesting enough to make me play the game XDD

          • i started at 19 and im 21 now :D, anyhow, is never too late to learn something… unless you are death, there, i think it will be too late…

    • kroufonz

namco bandai doing good job with toradora portable and they maintain that with oreimo portable, which lead me to believe this haruhi game will at least as good as both games

      • In my opinion, oreimo, while good, still wasnt as good as toradora… But they did a nice job, still, i felt oreimo was too easy compared to toradora that had all that item gathering and item choosing (and close up conversations), also, here they seem to maintain the “chibi 3D models” of characters that toradora had :D. And you will need items you get other stuff and whatnot, but since tora dora was already over there was more freedom to do anything, but it will be hard here…

  • this game look sooooooooooooooooo boring =(

  • kroufonz

wish bandai could bundle this with their movie release (us release)

  • Super size me

  • So, what are the chances of an english release of this ;3?

    • Ryos

I’d say less than zero but there’s always the chance that some company may not be scared off by the fact it’s an anime-based game with limited appeal.

  • So what are the chances of an english release of this ;3?

  • Learii

i would like to play this but i have no hope that its will relased in USA =(

The initial trailer looked impressive with the 3D cel shaded mastery but so far (I can’t view this particular trailer atm) I’ve just seen your standad semi static 2D avatar norm in VN games.
I think a game like Heavy Rain or Another Code R, or Sakura Wars Wii represents the next stage in ADV games
