Namco Will Tell Tales Of the Abyss In June

Earlier this month, Namco Bandai delayed Tales of the Abyss on the Nintendo 3DS from its May 19th release date in Japan to an unspecified point in time. Now, the game has a release date once more; Namco say it’s on track for a June 30th release.

Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS has all the content from the American PlayStation 2 release of the game, including the additional Artes that weren’t in the original Japanese version.

I hope Namco Bandai would make a bundle, involving the anime of this game. ^_^

i’m not sure but didint Bandai alredy say something about bringing the abyss anime to the US awhile back?

Funimation has the rights to it and all they’re doing is subbing it, and apparently not following the game’s localization in terms of character and location names.

Funimation has the rights to the Tales of VESPERIA anime, Bandai has the rights to Tales of the Abyss anime.

I swear I read Funimation had the license to sub it. Either way, the localization thing is still true. See here: http://www.talesoftheabyss.bandai-ent.com/

@STiger: Yeah, Bandai is the one releasing the Abyss anime in the states. On the other hand, I never heard anything about Vesperia: First Strike getting licensed by Funimation…

you didnt? Funimation announced it in April when they also got Fractale and Freezing rights, no date for when its coming subbed/dubbed though.

          • PurpleDoom

@Tsuna: Oh! Looks like they did. Thanks for the heads up!

I just hope we get it in America

I hope I get it in Australia. Heh. Heh…

      • vadde939

I second this. Though at least importing is an option if it gets a European release.

        • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

          No it’s not. 3DS is region-locked.

          • vadde939

Australia and Europe are the same region for video games. Always have been and the 3DS is no different. EU copy of Pilotwings running on my Aus 3DS is proof of that.

          • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

More power to ya then. Region-locking is the worst, though.

Your bravery is showing if you’re an Aussie Tales fan and picked up a PAL 3DS.

        • vadde939

          I did exactly that. I hope I won’t regret it….

      Yes please…

Remember that the Amazon listing for the Tales of the Abyss: Asch the Bloody Vol. 1 manga used to have a product description saying “…This manga adaptation from the POV of one of the series most popular characters, is timed for release alongside the US release of the series’ anime adaptation. This series premiere will also match that of franchise’s RPG title debut on Nintendo 3DS.”

The product listing has been altered now to remove that statement. The manga is coming out in English in August. That wouldn’t

I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

Well, they have the script and VA. No pesky Sony of America porting laws preventing them from localizing in the US like with Eternia (which made it to EU).

    • PrinceHeir

i just hope we get this overseas :P

  • Zero_Destiny

I loved Abyss. Would love to play it again. Can’t wait to hear more. <3

The graphics look kinda bad… Just saying that it looks as good as in the RM games on PSP. Or it could just be me >_>
