Sega Have A Lot Of Nintendo 3DS Games In The Works

By Ishaan . May 13, 2011 . 4:14pm

Sega have only discussed three of their Nintendo 3DS games so far: Super Monkey Ball 3D (which is already out), Crush 3D (which we discussed this week), and a Sonic title, of which they’ve revealed nothing to date. However, Sega plan to release 20 Nintendo 3DS SKUs1 by next March.

This is outlined in their financial statement for the past year. If you look at the chart above, they also have 23 PlayStation 3 SKUs, 18 Xbox 360 SKUs, 7 for Nintendo DS, and 6 SKUs for PSP planned for release over the next year.

The NGP isn’t mentioned on the list, but that doesn’t mean Sega won’t release games for it — they were on the list of publishers that plan to support the NGP, and showed off a tech demo of Yakuza 4 running on the device.

* “SKU” is an abbreviation for “stock-keeping unit,” and can refer to multiple packages of the same item. For example, a limited edition and a regular edition of the same game would count as two separate SKUs. Therefore, 20 SKUs doesn’t necessarily equal 20 games.

     Shenmue 1 & 2 Portable

    Thats a port I’d consider

    • Exkaiser

       Sailors?

      • godmars

         don’t you mean seamen?

    • CleruTesh

Amen! Oh Shenmue, how I’ve missed thee. I can’t believe the “Dreamcast Collection” didn’t include Shenmue. It could have included ONLY Shenmue and I’d have bought it.

Or Shenmue I&II HD for PS3/Project Cafe or something.

    • kupomogli

I’d take this or like Phoenix Apollo mentioned, Shenmue 1 and 2 HD.

I wonder if they cant show NGP games since, well no one knows the time, I would find it odd if they missed launch…

You’d think they’d have more PSP titles.

  • HarryHodd

Nice to see PS3 has the most. I wonder how many are PSN titles.

    Valkyria Chronicles 4 please for PS3? :(

    Still need VC3 english though

Gah, where is Valkyria Chronicles III? D: Feels like VC2 came out so long ago. The wait is killing me.

@twitter-42108745:disqus  I’m hoping that one of those PSP games is VC3 as well, but I wouldn’t be too worried yet. VC2 may FEEL like it came out so long ago, but it really only came out 8 months ago.

Plus, with VC2, it came out in Japan in late January ’10, and America/Europe/Australia got it in late August/Early September. VC3 came out in late January ’11,so I’d say we have awhile before we declare things a lost cause :P

I’d imagine that VC4 would be PS3 and NGP since they can use the same assets.  Fans who want it to return to PS3 get their fix and the PSP crowd they’ve built up with II & III get their fix.  Add in some PS3-NGP Compatibility and I’d be happy.

And yeah, VCIII in the West is *NEEDED*.  Hopefully at E3.  I wonder if they’re holding out for just a bit to do a PSP/NGP launch.

      • HarryHodd

All for the PS3/NGP Valkryia Chronicles. I think they need to give PS3 another one.

Somehow, I feel @SEGA will market #Sonic via Complete Global Saturation…

     You’re too slow!!     …sorry couldn’t help myself.

They’d better have Planet Harriers in that lineup.

  • Kris

That’s a lot of games. That said, I love me some Sega, so I look forward to it! (Even if the superhero movie games probably won’t be so hot)

  • AzureNova

Bayonetta 2, and Valkyria Chronicles 4 for PS3 please.

  • http://mmv-wii.proboards.com/index.cgi Hero of Legend

    Fourth 3DS game; M&S.

Hopefully they have a nice bit of Cafe games in development. In all honesty, as they did a sort of surprise sequel on Wii with NiGHTS (and Samba to an extent), for Cafe, make it Billy Hatcher 2 please! :D

Brace yourselves for a lot of Sonic games :D
