Another Persona 4 Anime Teaser Shows A Familiar Scene…

By Ishaan . May 14, 2011 . 1:28pm

AIC ASTA seem to have given this a bit more of a sinister vibe than the game if I recall correctly. There’s no hint of monkey-Kanji in the teaser, but maybe we’ll see him when the full series finally airs.

AIC ASTA are collaborating with Atlus to create the Persona 4 anime. Shoji Meguro, who provides music for the games, will be creating music for the anime, too.

    Well. I’m turned on now.

  • PrinceHeir

only played the first part of the game. i just need to finish “The Answer” campaign in P3 FES and i’ll jump back ^^

do you think Atlus should make more Anime adaptations of their games? and also do you think they should expand the Shin Megami Tensei line more? as much as i like Persona series the main series needs some shine too. sure Devil Survivor 2 is coming out which is awesome, but i want a game that is similar to Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga in terms of art and story.

it would also be cool if Atlus can make Visual Novel games on a console or just published existing ones to the west. but i know Atlus already has too many things at hand so i understand.

    • Conject

I’d certainly like to see an anime based off either Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga. The two offered a more mature atmosphere, it’s something that made the games memorable.

      • Testsubject909

Digital Devil Saga is nearly a movie by itself if you were to take down the cutscenes and string them up one after the other.

Nocturne also felt very personal as you were slowly building towards one of six different possibilities that were your own. Though it’s not impossible.

After all, they do have an SMT Manga.

        • Nocturne would be difficult to do. A lot of the game is comprised of ‘go to this place, fight the members of this or that faction, find your old friends who can’t stop bickering and backstabbing you’. Rinse and repeat. DDS is more of a possibility but I’m not sure how well it can be adapted to an animated series.

    • Testsubject909

You could always hunt down the SMT animated movie.

It has a semi orgy scene at one point for all of you perverts who’re into seeing naked women being taken over by demons….

      • [The Hunter] Doomrider

        Let me guess: tentacle rape.

        • Testsubject909

Actually, surprisingly… No. There’s no tentacles.

          • [The Hunter] Doomrider

             That IS surprising!

          • Of course it’s not exactly a great movie either.

      • OneOkami

That is not an SMT anime.  Its based off the novel series like the original games were.

        • Testsubject909

Huh… well, learn something new every day. Of course this demands some research.

    • Exkaiser

They just brought out Strange Journey, which was a main series game.

      And it was great.

    • LynxAmali

Devil Children/ DemiKids please. I love the crap out of those when I was younger before I got into main stream SMT. Devil Survivor wouldn’t actually be that for an anime. I’d like to throw my hat up for a Strange Journey adaption as well. And since we’re talking Atlus general, Grownlanser anime when?
OT: I’m confuzzled. Kanji? If it is, I SEE WHAT YOU’RE DOING! *points to the date*

    • Considering what they did with Trinity Soul…we’ll have to watch this one and then decide whether or not Atlus should continue. I actually would prefer more of the main SMT games to come out (even if they couldn’t be quite canon due to the fact that you can only blow up the world so many times). I definitely want a return of grey morality and multiple endings. As for VNs I’d disagree. One of Atlus’ main selling points (besides good stories) is the great gameplay. If it wasn’t for the gameplay I really wouldn’t repeat games like P3 or P4 more than once.

      • YsyDoesIt

The second this was announced I was cautiously optimistic because of Trinity Soul.  However, Persona 4, despite subject matter, is far more tongue-in-cheek than the former.  I have a feeling it will be perfectly enjoyable.

    • YsyDoesIt

I think one of the attributes I like best about the Shin Megami Tensei series (and it’s unique approach of the various individual SMT spin-offs) is that the meaty releases aren’t coming out so fast as to diminish quality.  Granted, that means we’re seeing more enhanced re-releases; those are always optional, however.

The current media tie-in products for the series are fine with me, though.  I appreciate the manga and shows, but I religiously play the games for a reason.

There’s manly men and then there’s Kanji.

    • doubletaco

       So, REALLY manly men?

    • You saying he likes dudes?

      • . . .Yes?
/starts galloping in the other way as quickly as possible.

  • Tommy Lee

Oh thank goodness I wasn’t keeping an eye on the site anymore. That would have given me nightmares…

  • Tsuna, control yourself

    • Testsubject909

      Bit pre-emptive aren’t you?

Are you expecting him to come by and scream Day 1?

  • Shoji Meguro is still doing the music? Awesome!

    • I know, he’s a genius! Hope they are pre-ordering the soundtrack.

  • Angeru_Lito

Welcome to the Bad Baaad Bathhouse ….

  •  Kanji, you tease!

  • Chow
