Last month, Majesco announced BloodRayne: Betrayal, an upcoming 2D sidescroller developed by WayForward Technologies, for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Today, we have our first look at the game via a trailer:

That’s a lot of red. WayForward’s choice of more subdued colours is interesting, too. Majesco haven’t announced a release date for BloodRayne: Betrayal yet, but plan to release it this summer.

    One word: Wow.

Haven’t played the previous Bloodrayne games but this one instantly grabbed my interest after watching the trailer. WayForward is indeed one of the game developers who show their love for 2D gaming. Day 1 buy for me.

Looks a lot more like Castlevania than I expected.

  • Wow! This looks fantastic. There were a lot of the times where they didn’t even feel like 2D sprites. Yet at the same time, it feels a little retro.

  • Yeah. BloodRayne never did interest me– but this one definitely looks like it could be awesome~

Pretty much exactly how I was, series has never caught my attention, and it just never interested me. But this is a completely different story, just more proof of WayForward’s exceptional skills >w<' Have to admit been on a Castlevania kick lately too so this is really hitting home for me.

    0:43 – Meat Boy?

I’ve never heard of this or cared about anything BloodRayne, but this looks really cool.

I couldn’t make out anything. It was either too bloody, too blurry or both.

So glad I’m finally getting a PS3 next week. This game looks great. Really hope they end up making the 3DS games too.

    wow looks awesome!

  • It’s more like Shank with the cookies and cream of Castlevania.

  • Covnam

This graphic style sure does seem to be getting popular, hopefully it doesn’t get run into the ground like cell shading did a few years ago.

  • RagnaXBL
