Fable: The Journey Will Have Kinect Horse Carriage Steering

By Ishaan . June 6, 2011 . 12:22pm

Microsoft announced a new Fable game at their E3 2011 media presentation earlier today, titled Fable: The Journey. They emphasized the fact that the game is being built to fully support Kinect control.

During their live presentation on stage, Microsoft demonstrated examples of Kinect use like driving a horse carriage, and performing melee attacks by swinging your arms. Walking sections of the game appeared to be on-rails, but we can’t say for sure until Microsoft reveal more about the title.

Fable: The Journey is slated for release sometime in 2012. You can view a trailer for the game above.

The result of two years in the making….

    This is kinda sad…

  • The on-rails part worries me a bit, but I think it can still work out. I’m not sure how I feel about shooting magic bolts either. There really needs to be more gameplay than hype in these things…

But hey, that’s pretty much what E3 is all about.

Anyone else thinking Never Ending Story when the ‘black smog’ appeared?

  • The spell weaving bit looks interesting and all, but it’s just not the same without all the button ‘mashing goodness… :'(

  • After the mediocrity that was Fable 2&3 Peter’s going to have to dish out way more then some Kinect controls to warrant my interest in another Fable Title. Tired of him hyping these games up and not putting his mouth or large budget to good use.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The Fable Dev team have made way to many amateurish mistakes with gameplay and general design in this series as is. A series with as much potential as this should definitely feel much more complete and “epic”.

  • fable1 with all its defects was a good game..
Heck, even fable2&3 while innovating little and polishing fable1 formula were good games all things considered..
but a rail-shooter? in this day and age?
the heck peter, you take no candle, er-money from me, this time!
    squeeze up something better, kkthxbye!

  • kinect 1 lagging still unbearable to me
