Kirby: Mass Attack Swarms To The Nintendo DS In September

Where you preferred Atsumete! Kirby or Gather! Kirby doesn’t matter any more; Nintendo are calling it Kirby: Mass Attack. The Nintendo DS game is slated for release on September 19th in the U.S.

The game starts out like this: “One day, an evildoer with a magic cane appears and splits Kirby into 10 pieces. Kirby sets off on a journey to return to his original form.”

You play Kirby: Mass Attack using the touchscreen. Each Kirby is controlled with the stylus. A flick will launch him into the air. A swarm of Kirbies can be made to rush to a spot by tapping it repeatedly.

You can also launch all ten Kirbies in a mass attack against enemies, then you can follow up by tapping enemies into submission. You can’t throw ten Kirbies at every problem in the game, though; some challenges in Mass Attack require a specific number of Kirbies to handle them.

  • Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for this! :D

  • Covnam

Are all 10 Kirbys identical? Or do they each have different skills, abilities, personalities etc?

  • neo_firenze

Awaiting NoA boxart full of angry Kirbies.

And glad to see an official English language name.  Yay for less name translation drama! (Though no issue with including literal translations when you’re actually noting the original Japanese title too!)

You know, it’s funny I’ve never played a Kirby game and stopped and thought “You know, this is good~! But if there were like 10 more Kirbies, it’d be WAY better!” >w<' Seriously though I like the looks of this, it might fill that Pikmin niche in my heart, ever so briefly T_T'

  • Phoenix_Apollo

This is great news. I hope they don’t end up ignoring the other Fire Emblem DS game, however.

  • Gio32k

Will they be dealing massive damage over 9000?

  • Can never get enough of the pink puffball.

  • Masengan

I love Kirby =D, I had very GOOD childhood memories so I appreciate all the games they put out.

  • Kirby Mass Effect

  • Stop trying different things with Kirby, Nintendo!

Seriously, it’s like they forgot Kirby inhales his enemies and takes their abilities.
