Ninja Gaiden 3 To Have Downloadable Characters And Missions

By Ishaan . June 8, 2011 . 9:06pm

At E3, Team Ninja publicly revealed a few details on Ninja Gaiden 3 this week. The game will have two multiplayer modes — a cooperative one and a competitive mode — for up to 8 players. Ninja Gaiden 3 will also allow you to download new challenges, characters and missions when you connect online.

As far as the story is concerned, Team Ninja are remaining rather tight-lipped. The antagonist of Ninja Gaiden 3, they say, is a masked man — presumably the one in the trailer — whose motivations and goals are unclear. Ryu will apparently find himself undergoing a few changes during the course of the game, and you’ll get to learn more about his past.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, and is currently slated for an early 2012 release.

I’m gonna have to pay extra for Ayane, aren’t I? :/

    • Yes, and if the internet were a store I’d be standing behind you on line (hehehe geddit on line)

    • Ayane would be very, very nice, as long as they don’t mess her face up like in Sigma 2.

    • Crimson_Cloud

Unfortunately it seems we will. Damn, probably another thing that should have come with the game. Who says console network doesn’t have any bad sides?

  • Christian Wright

    hayate and kasumi please!

    • DemonicX

This. I definitely would not mind playing as Kasumi.

      • Advent_Andaryu

It was really hinted in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 that she would have role in the next one. (or maybe they were just teasing us?)

    • midgard229

definatly want kasumi!!! if this happened my fiance would flip out and steal her from me -_- OH well i can share :D

  • shion16

Theres a lot of ambition behind this game
    I like that :D

Ayane, Rachel, Momiji and probably a couple others as DLC this time around.  Hopefully if you’re paying for a character you can get to play more of the game with that character than the few stages that were available in NGS2.

One thing I noticed is all the people testing this game in vids were really really REALLY bad at the game.  The climbing and stealth all looked poorly implemented and monotonous, but if there’s a good action game between those I would put up with it.

I recall Itagaki having someone show off NG2 at TGS a few years back who could get master rank in all of NG Black.  Team Ninja would be wise to do something similar at TGS.

    • Yeah I believe they will be playable as the multiplayer characters and that would just be awesome! I always wanted to play NG2 with a friend but only sigma offered that so hopefully they are going to a whole new level with NG3’s muliplayer.

Guys, release a great sequel, THEN worry about DLC and characters we have to pay for. :P

  • PrinceHeir

    looks awesome :P

  • XypherCode

i’ll buy this along side the Wii U :D

  • Souji Tendou

But if they decides to give us Kasumi, it would be out of character guys, Kasumi doesn’t like killing, how can you expect her to kill people brutally like Ryu?

No, my poor Kasumi, we shall cuddle in bed and I won’t let you go baby. :p

    • HistorysGreatestMonster

You could have her be really upset during cutscenes. Or have her only killing demons or robots or something.

  • AzureNova

Kasumi and Ayane for the win!!! >_<

  • KyoyaHibari

Sick…that’s exactly what I wanted for NG, this is going to be sweet.

  • Maybe I’m too retro but they should just include all the “DLC” in the actual game when we buy it.

    • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

Developers have a commitment to their investors to get a game out at a certain time. Sometimes, not everything originally planned can be completed, resulting in DLC. Many times, they work on things after the game is complete before it actually ships, resulting in DLC. In either case, you’re still getting the “full game” on the disk
