Suda 51 And Akira Yamaoka Sound Off On Shadows of the Damned’s Sound

By Ishaan . June 17, 2011 . 11:01am

Remember Grasshopper Manufacture’s nutty Shadows of the Damned developer diary from back in April? They’re back with another, this time talking about the game’s sound.

Scary sounds aren’t the only ones in Shadows of the Damned. Your skull-gun partner, Johnson’s non-stop rambling counts as a type of sound, too. You’ll be able to hear both when the game releases next week on June 21st.

I really like the style of these things. Hardcore accented voice overs, and little special effects… awesome.

Can’t wait to hear your soundtrack, Akira.

Why does this say the 24th? I’ll be out of town starting the 24th ): I was so looking forward to picking it up tuesday.

  • Syltique

    That was … interesting.

I thought it was coming out on the 21st, hummm.

And while I like how they handled the effects in the vid, their choice for voicing was… Interesting. I think they could have made it fit the video better and not sound so… I just don’t even know.

It is still the 21st I believe…I hope that they wouldn’t change it. Plus, the point of the trailer is to be over the top like grindhouse films which has over the top acting. It’s all humor…As they said, the game isn’t supposed to be taken serious so they are playing around in the trailers

Oh. Hum. Well maybe the trailer is just wrong… And I know that, I do like the acting, but the actual voices were… Eh. For them specifically anyway.

The more I hear Garcia’s voice in the trailers, the more I felt that he’s voiced by Steve Blum. Not sure if it’s him but the voice is very similar.

Also, I really love this intentionally cheesy developer diary for this game. Very entertaining to watch just to hear the over-the-top dubbing. Gotta like Suda’s sense of humor too. He is indeed not your typical CEO of a video game company.

I’m really excited for this. Already got mine pre-ordered so I also look forward to hear the soundtrack for the game.
