It’ll Take Longer Than 30 Seconds, But Europe’s Getting Half-Minute Hero 2 [Update]

By Ishaan . June 20, 2011 . 11:01am

No one’s announced any publishing plans for Half-Minute Hero Second for the U.S., but according to Amazon and, Rising Star games will, unsurprisingly, resume their publishing duties for Marvelous Entertainment games.

Both Amazon and Play have Half-Minute Hero 2 listed for release on October 21st. Following several delays, Japan will get the game a little earlier on August 4th.

The extended development time allowed Marvelous to include features that may not have made it into the game otherwise, due to time constraints. Among these is the scenario maker, but producer, Kenichiro Takaki, tells us there’s more to be revealed.

Update: Rising Star are not the publisher handling Half-Minute Hero Second in Europe. See this post for more details.

News like this reminds people that the PSP is the best system this gen. In case any have forgotten.  Now that it’s in English, let’s just hope this also gets a US release so I don’t have to spend atleast twice as much by importing.

    • Ryos

I keep seeing people post about what a terrible system the PSP is but I keep thinking we must be talking about some obscure system that also goes by PSP because this is such an amazing system…at least if you like RPGs!  I hope we get this here too.

      you mean second best :P
      can’t wait for this

I see what you did there.

Nice to see that it’s getting a physical release over there. Will import if the US doesn’t get one.

  • Good job, Rising Star Games.

  • Damn I hope this gets released in someway here. If all else fails RS should release it on the PSN like XSEED does with its games.

  • I seriously hope this gets localized… I couldn’t understand anything from the demo, but I could instantly tell what gameplay changes had been made between HMH1 an 2.  Pretty please XSEED, won’t you consider localizing this in North America?

  • Europe?
Does that mean it’ll be… in english? :l

    • timpkmn89

Nope, expect it to only have European text

    • Kirbysuperstar2

Of course not. No country in Europe speaks English. The game will be in Europease.

      • Zero_Destiny

Darn next to Moon Talk and Gibberish Europease is the hardest language to learn!!! >_< lol I kid.

Don't worry Javon Hernandez. Yes a European release means that it will most likely have an English language release in the UK. Especially since Rising Star games has released a lot of English language games in the past couple of years.

  • :( Hoping for a localization! I love the first!

  • Hi, I’m from Rising Star Games – contrary to what some retailers have apparently claimed, we won’t be publishing Half-Minute Hero 2.  I think the publisher is Namco Bandai.

    • Hey Torisu, thanks for giving us a heads up. Is there a chance you could e-mail me from your RSG e-mail, just so we can be sure you’re from RSG? We can sort this out via e-mail, and I’ll update the post to reflect the new info. :)
