Catch Pokémon Rumble Blast In America This October

You can start referring to Super Pokémon Rumble as Pokémon Rumble Blast — that’s its official name. Nintendo of America have announced the game for release in the U.S. this fall.

Rumble Blast place in a Toy World. The story is about Drops of Light that allow Pokémon to battle. The Drops of Light have begun to disappear, and once they’re gone, Pokémon will be unable to battle at all. You have venture into the Toy World to recover the Drops of Light.

This is done by progressing through the game’s different areas. Each area has its own varieties of Toy Pokémon, and you fight large groups of these while there. Nintendo of America say Pokémon Rumble Blast has over 600 Toy Pokémon to collect. Every area also has different kinds of challenges. Battle Royale is a one-against-many endurance mode, while Charge Battles is an army-against-army brawl.

Co-op features made it in, too. You can play cooperatively over local wireless with another player, and StreetPass lets you challenge the Toy Pokémon of other players you happen to pass once you open your 3DS up again. Nintendo have got the game slated for release on October 24th in the U.S.

I really wanted a game of Pokemon RPG for 3DS!How long I have to wait? T_T

Three years, going by the typical pokemon pattern. And then six more months for localization.

      Ruby/Sapphire was 2002, Diamond/Pearl was 2006, Black/White was 2010.

You know, I’m starting to wonder…if they go the 3D models route for the next RPG, what’s going to happen to all of Game Freak’s artists, who have primarily been doing 2D sprite animation all this while?

Ideally, they’ll have allotted a little bit of training time for all those people to get back in touch with 3D modeling and texturing over the past year or two, so that they can all hit the ground running on 3DS.

…that, or I guess they could re-use the models from Pokédex 3D. They all look so gorgeous and well-animated, I wouldn’t mind that one bit. They’d still need to model the non-B/W creatures though.

I’m totally getting this. The Pokemon Rumble demo for the Wii was awesome. I’m just sad that I can’t really justify spending most of a points card on it.

…Eh. A cute toy, I guess, but far form the Pokemon MMO I’ve been dreaming of. Nintendo just loves to not give me what I want.

YES. Call me crazy, but I really loved the Pokemon Rumble WiiWare game. It was expensive, but still totally worth it.

I wish Pokemon Rumble Blast had online multiplayer, but even without it I’m still super excited about it!

Is this coming for Wii too or only 3DS?

Just 3DS. The predecessor to this game, Pokémon Rumble, is on WiiWare though.
