Now that the opening movie is all revealed and done with, it’s back to the usual character spotlights for Ougon Musou Kyoku X. This time, the focus is on George Ushiromiya, whose ability in the game is Patience. When activated, this ability fills your SP gauge while blocking.

Here’s a video of George’s special abilities:

And finally, one of his combos:

Just my kind of character 8D
I hope I get to play this awesome fighting game once, but I fear I won’t ever buy a 360… I don’t think this will ever get to PS3, but one can dream, I guess?

I’d like so too but the harsh reality is that this is a small company, this is a sequel to a PC game so it ports to 360 easier, this is a game made to the niche Japanese 360 Otaku fanbase so they only expect a certain amount of sales off their smaller marketing budget etc etc etc

      • It’s not really a sequel, but an enchanced port. The sequel is also in development, but for now it’s PC-only.

  • Like George’s kicks, but not his stance.

  • Haha, it’s strange to see George in a fighting game. Not because he’s unpopular, but because he’ll always strike me a harmless nerdy guy. :3 Patience as a skill makes tons of sense for him.

Goerge is one of my favorite Umineko characters (…as my avatar proves), so I can’t wait till he’s added to the PC version. But is it just me, or does he seem more… 3D than he should? That is, at some points he looks almost like a 3D model compared to the rest of the characters.

Looks much better than Phantom Breaker.. How come all the chars have the same last name Ushiromiya, are they like a big family?  Kinda weird all of their first names are Eng-like too..

      • Aoshi00

Hm.. don’t think you’re helping.. If I wanted to wiki, I would’ve done it myself :)  Not going to import this though..

        • I linked it to answer your question as to why the some of the characters have the same surname.

          • Aoshi00

I actually wiki’ed it myself after I watched the trailer (seeing all the chars are named Ushiromiya), I was just curious and interested what the others who are familiar w/ the series have to say.  Also I just found some of their names to be really strange and made up.. like 朱志香 for Jessica, or 楼座 for Rosa..  but BTA answered my question below w/o telling me to go read up on something.. I found this Jpn site was pretty detailed though..

          • I suppose that trying to mix Western names with a Japanese surname doesn’t always pay-off too well. However, the names won’t really matter when (if) you’re actually playing the game.

    • BTA

The Ushiromiyas are all family members, yes.

      • Aoshi00

Thanks, I just thought it was really strange when I was watching the trailer, character after character w/ the same last name.. and the English sounding first names being rendered into kanji looked kinda contrived to me.. guess they’re all like cousins or something..  the port for the VN on PS3 looks good..

  • I’ve always liked characters with a kicking fighting style. George is looking pretty cool.
