TwinBee Is The Next 3D Classic For Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo revealed another 3DS Classic for the Nintendo 3DS today — TwinBee, originally released by Konami as a coin-operated arcade game in 1985, is another vertical shooter, similar to Xevious.

TwinBee was later ported to the Famicom. In TwinBee, you uncover bells from underneath clouds by shooting at them. If you shoot the bells, they change colour, and depending on the colour, give you different power-ups, bonus points, or increase the speed of your ship.

While the original version of TwinBee had support for two players, the 3D Classic version will only support one. The game will be released on the eShop on August 10th for 600 yen ($7.75).

    Twinbee’s pretty cool.

    Dude hangs out with the Vic Viper, so you know he’s legit.

      You make it sound to be like it’s some sort of sitcom… which would be freaky weird to watch.

    Does the 3DS support a tate/sideways mode with 3D effect on and all that?

      Nope, 3D effect is only visible when viewing the screen horizontally.

        I’m not so sure about that! “New Love Plus” will be played vertically & I’m sure the 3D effect will still work that way! I maybe wrong, but…..

    Cool, this is the only 3D classic so far I care about the most. Too bad I already have the game on my Famicom.

    Ah cool.  So I assume we will get this here in the US?  Detana Twinbee would have been a better choice but this is still pretty cool.

  • puchinri

    Ahh, I want Twin Bee. ;u;

    To have two xevious, I rather have urban champion instead, which I actually enjoyed as a child
