Durga The Cybernetic Tiger-Man Bares His Claws In Anarchy Reigns

Today, Sega revealed another playable character for Anarchy Reigns — Durga, a…cybernetic tiger guy? Something to that effect anyway. Here’s a trailer, tail and all (no cat ears, though):

Durga has a cybernetic leg that can transform into a large revolver. He can fire it while kicking, too. Sega say Durga’s age is 31.

Whoa this guy is awesome! I love Platinum Games for their outrageous characters and games! This guy really reminds me of Cherry aka Gun-Leg girl from Quentin Tarantino’s Planet Terror…Any who, day 1 of course

  Oh and Planet Terror is from Robert Rodriguez. Tarantino’s film in Grindhouse is Death Proof.

Awesome >w<; I was really scared we'd seen all the characters so far and there wouldn't be any more T3T; I love the design, maybe not the type of character I'd pick, but I think his design is really sharp, and compliments the variety of the cast well owo;

Wait? Durga? As in, the claw weapons in Bayonetta? That’s a neat reference. His flame kicks even look the same.

  I figure it has more to do with the goddess than a weapon in Bayonetta. Then again, the weapon you’re talking about probably has to do with it too. Wouldn’t know, could never bring myself to play that.
  From what I’ve gathered Durga’s name means “the invincible” as he says he is. She rode a tiger, this guy’s a tiger kind of. One of her weapons was a bow, modernize it to a gun as this guy has in his leg.

On the one hand- if they wanted to copy Durga from Bayonetta, why not make him a quadruple amputee with mechanic fire limbs?

On the other hand- a revolver leg might be cool enough on it’s own. Guess we’ll have to wait and see…

On the one hand, I wonder why they couldn’t just have him be a quadruple amputee so they could REALLY let us play around with Durgas moveset from Bayonetta, since that seems to be the entire point of his character… but hey, maybe a man with a revolver leg can be enough of a character in his own right that we won’t mind his move-set being a rip-off of Bayonetta.

Speaking of that though… if they DO include Bayonetta, which move-set SHOULD she have? Her snake-whip and ice-skates, maybe? All the other guys have weapons like hers anyway, so she would have to stand out in some way.
