Back to the Future: The Game Travels To The Wii In October

Telltale Games have signed a publishing agreement with Nintendo of America to publish games for the Wii, the publisher announced today. As part of this arrangement, Telltale’s Back to the Future: The Game will be published as a retail game on the Wii this October for $19.99.

Back to the Future: The Game was originally released as a five-episode downloadable adventure game on PC, PlayStation Network and iPad. Telltale say the game has sold over 1 million episodes to date on the PC platform alone.

Telltale are also publishing a retail collector’s edition for Back to the Future: The Game for PC. The interesting part is, if you already own all five episodes of the episodic version, you can order the collector’s edition retail version for free, provided you’re willing to pay for shipping.

Back to the Future was one of those classic movies that everyone needed and needs to watch. I must have missed news of the game the first time around, but I believe I now need to decide on if I want it in retail form or on digital services.

This just show how much of weirdo I am. I’ve never seen any of the Back to the Future movies nor do I want to (not that its bad or anything). *sigh* I’m a loser aren’t I?

Sometimes you don’t know you want something until you’ve tried it.

That’s the thing every time I try to get myself in gear to watch it, I get distracted by something else. That being said I have seen bit and pieces b/c my younger brother is a big fanatic of Back to the Future but it still just doesn’t interest me at all. I think there’s something wrong with me…

Don’t forget the clockwork orange eye-clamps.

I think that maybe the only way to get me to watch it. Thanks for the advice good sir! Now I just gotta find some rope…

I read somewhere this was for the Playstation 3 also?

I played it on PS3, an excellent, excellent adventure game from TellTale.  They really got the feel of the movies down perfectly.  A worthy successor to the series and about as close as you’ll get to Back to the Future 4. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the films. I might have to get the Wii version so I can play in the living room with my husband.

Also, Christopher Lloyd returns as Doc Brown!

      Now we just need:

      Goonies
      The Lost Boys
      Weird Science
      Bill & Ted”s Excellent Adventure

IGN just ran a story that said Telltale established a publishing deal for SONY to publish BttF at retail for PS3. Considering it actually exists as a PS3 currently, I doubt this story here. Also, c’mon – considering they shot down much higher profile games like Xenoblade and Last Story, it would be a miracle that Telltale got NOA to publish ANYTHING of theirs.

Even if this is true…who cares. Just play this somewhere else. The Wii is dead. NOA killed it with their *amazing* 2011 lineup of constant, amazing games.
