If Youre A Final Fantasy XI Fanatic, You Could Test New Game Content Early

If you have at least one level 90 job and all the Final Fantasy XI expansion packs and battle and scenario add-ons, you can apply to test out new content for Final Fantasy XI before it’s officially released to the public. Square Enix will allow a limited number of players to help test this content out on a Final Fantasy XI Test Server.

 

“Along with the launch of the test server, a new World ‘Undine’ will become available,” a Final Fantasy XI community moderator revealed. “You can copy your character data in the game over to ‘Undine’ and be able to try out new content.”

    New content? Now? Really? Maybe they’re actually serious about bringing FFXI to the Vita.

      They’ve been making new content regularly throughout the game’s life.  Lately (as in the past 1-2 years) at a pace of a major update every 3 months or so, but the devs have stated they want to have more frequent smaller updates.  Instead of having one big patch, they see a more constant ongoing system, and apparently this player testing is one method that they think will help them do so.

      For what it’s worth, the three Abyssea updates/mini-expansions in June/Sep/Dec 2010 are arguably the best content FFXI has ever seen.  I’m a longtime FFXI player (since 2004), and for my money they are only rivaled by the Treasures of Aht Urghan expansion.

      I hope they do bring FFXI to Vita. I’d love to finally get in to it. Even if I’d be a severely underleveled “noob.”

        My only doubt would be how they would tackle the only problem when playing on a console, they keyboard. Perhaps a touch based keyboard would be effective?

      FFXI has been receiving new content since a year ago. Abyssea and all the likes.

    aww man how i wish there’s only 1 FF Online and they should made XI as XIV and XI being a proper FF game.
