WayForward’s Mighty Switch Force Gets A 3D Trailer On The European eShop

By Ishaan . September 2, 2011 . 1:31pm

If you happen to live in Europe, you can watch a brief 3D trailer of WayForward’s first Nintendo 3DS game, Mighty Switch Force, on the European eShop. If not, Nintendo World Report have a camera-recorded version that you can watch below:

Mighty Switch Force has you playing as Officer Wagon, a peace-keeping robot. She has the ability to reform the terrain around her in 3D space, which you can sort of see in the trailer. WayFoward will release the game on the eShop sometime this year.

Well that’s an interesting little mechanic.  Might get tedious in the long run, but it should make for some tricky platforming.

This looks like Mega Man X 1-3 SNES, and that’s a really good thing!

Wayforward – when it’s time to cut loose and release an original IP – always does amazing, charming, inventive old-school Japanese-esque action games. This is clearly the closest they’ll get to Mega Man or Gunstar Heroes, so I cannot wait! Heck, even their licensed titles are pretty amazing (Batman: Brave & the Bold, Contra 4, Bloodrayne Betrayal, Boy and His Blob).

Oh, and Jake Kaufman is one of the best chiptune artists today! These Mighty-series games always have AMAZING music:)

I wish Capcom would go to this studio and ask ‘em to make a new Mega Man. That would be tight. If Konami can trust them with Contra (and Sega with Aliens), Capcom should be able to hand them Mega Man and trust that they’ll make a great game for either DS or the XBLA/PSN.
