Ask Aksys Your Fate/Extra Questions

Type-Moon have a fair number of fans on Siliconera, and so, for our further coverage of Imageepoch’s Fate/Extra on PSP, we asked localization publisher, Aksys, if they’d be open to answering our community’s questions about the game’s English release, slated for this fall.

If you have questions you’d like answered about the game or about its localization, put them down in a comment below and we’ll pick the best ones to send to Aksys. Here’s a few things to keep in mind when you’re thinking up questions:

1. Aksys aren’t the developer, they’re the English publisher. This means they may not be able to answer development-related questions that pertain to Imageepoch.

2. Anything about how Extra plays or its story or how it was localized into English is fair game.

3. Keep your questions limited to Fate/Extra and only Fate/Extra (not even Fate/Extra CCC, which was announced the other day).

  • Phoenix_Apollo

Well, I’d kinda like to know if that October release date floating around is for real or not.

But, in comparison to 999 and the Agarest War series, how big is the game’s script?

  • http://twitter.com/Xeroma William Cozy

Were there any major difficulties related to Nasu’s unique writing style? Also, how much did Aksys cooperate with both Imageepoch and Type-moon when localizing this game? I’m very curious.

  • http://twitter.com/ShiningxWander Wander

I wanna thank Aksys for localizing Fate/Extra first and foremost.
Now on to the actual reason for this post, I guess I would like to know what is in the limited edition of Fate/Extra? Also who is your favorite Servant out of the three that we can choose (Saber, Caster, or Archer)? Thanks again Aksys! XD

  • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

I have but 3 main questions:

    1)  Average gameplay time to beat 1 playthrough?

    2) Does choosing different servants, means, even if maintaining the main storyline the same with every choice, new events and whatnot?

Ex: Like if, this especific event happens if you have this servant but if you have another one something else happens

    3) Might be silly one but IS THERE THE POSSIBILITY TO BE SOME kind of romance between the MC and the servant? >8D! Of course, without spoiling anything, just want an answer of yes or no here.

    • Kibbitz

Lol, may I answer if I’m not Aksys? =x

      • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

As long as the answer is spoilerless xD

        • Kibbitz

Done (see reply to Laith Rem’s reply =P)

    • http://twitter.com/Laith_Rem Laith Rem

I can answer this, if you don’t mind.

      1) From 8 -12 hrs more or less.
      2) Most of the events are the same however, your servant, gives input in certain scenes, it changes when you choose other servants.
      3) Kinda, sorta. Is mostly subtext if I remember correctly

      • Kibbitz

Oh well, you’ve covered this (shakes fist in mock anger.) Some additional comments on this.

        1. That’s actually much faster than I remember, but my memory is pretty unreliable considering how long ago it was. OTOH, I think I largely burned a lot more time during the first run for two reasons: data grinding and trying to earn a specific bonus. For those who wonder what this means, think back to the fact that the game basically plays like Rock-Paper-Scissors with the Attack-Break-Guard system. Monsters have their own pools of these patterns which they randomly pick one of. If you kill enough of an enemy type, you get data drops which reveal more and more of the 6-chain that they use up to the point where you can see the entire thing. I burned a lot of time in my first game doing this while getting the other bonus.

As for the bonus part, it sort of ties into question 2, so I’ll answer it there.

        2. What Laith Rem said. The game actually fits a pretty rigid structure, so your choice of servant in terms of story events basically means that you get the same type of events regardless. Of course, your Servant heart-to-heart talks will be different and they will respond differently to you (EDIT: and other characters) over the game due to their personality.

However, every Servant has 8 events that are sort of like sidequests, you trigger them by fulfilling some criteria ingame (winning battles, finding chests, that kind of criteria.) and then speaking to them in private when possible. Requirements are mostly different from servant to servant, and Caster has one or two that needs a bit of work on, which explains my longer first game clock. In a certain sense, this actually means that you might be better off doing Caster as your NewGame+ run or later.

        3. Laith, I didn’t finish Archer’s route, but I though it was pretty explicit in Saber’s and Caster’s >_> That being said, I lean to yes. Possible spoiler ahead (not character details, but mechanically how it works, but if you are not willing to know, PLEASE STOP READING and move on. Not sure if we have spoiler tags here and how I can use them.

You know how dating in VNs usually has two phases, courting and then deepening the relationship after you’re steady? Some games have only the courting and no active relationship time. Fate/Extra is mostly like this.

        • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

Oh, thanks :0 all my doubts are clear

          • Kibbitz

You’re welcome, glad I could help!

        • http://twitter.com/Laith_Rem Laith Rem

on 1: I say 8 – 12 hrs but it varies reading speed and all. I did blaze through most of the text so~~

And on 3: Eeeh I picked the female protagonist with Saber, my grasp on japanese is not really that good, and I played a while ago so I may have forgotten about this.

          • Kibbitz

Saber is lucky. Her sub-events don’t need the kind of grinding Caster does =( That being said, still <3 Caster. And Saber <3

  • Historiata

I’m an existing fan of Fate/Stay Night. (1) How often would you say I would giggle to myself at the game’s references or all around humor? (2) Is this the sort of thing I can introduce to get others interested in the series?

And finally, (3) is there a sound test for us to enjoy?

  • http://twitter.com/ifarah12 Gren

Keep doing what you’re doing, is all i want to say

  • Ereek

Please, Aksys, elaborate on the challenges that come with publishing anime/manga games as a niche publisher.  Can you elaborate about the licensing process when there are multiple publishers of the media involved?

More, let’s talk about consistency, for better or worse.  In some cases, already-released manga and anime have been localized by a different company there are inconsistencies in the naming scheme of attacks, areas, or side characters.  How would you approach this?  Would you go for a “truer” translation or stick to the consistent, if slightly less accurate, localization?

Do you think this title has the appeal to attract players who aren’t fans? And why?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2BOP4Z5KE5N7T5MUGIV6TEFMT4 Thomas

Philosophical question for the translator: Fate always makes me think of “hope.” If “hope” were a person, would it be male or female?

  • http://twitter.com/XSEEDGames XSEED Games

Dear Aksys, when localizing Fate/Extra, how many kittens were glued together with jam and inserted into the text? Can we hope for a palatable flavor of jam? And, can we expect the localization lead for this game to cosplay as Saber at next year’s anime expo?

    • http://www.aksysgames.com Belisarius

I can’t answer your jam/kitten-related questions (NDAs, you understand), but I can say that the answer to your cosplay query is an emphatic yes.

    • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

I vote for saber’s cosplay, i vote all the way

          Oooh~? I can’t wait to see. :3

  • Arcm

    Just two questions from me.

    1. What will be in the Limited Edition?
    2. When will I be able to preorder the Limited Edition?

  • Darkrise

Don’t really have a question left to ask since pretty much everyone is asking the same one’s I am. But I’ll just say that I hope Aksys continues to release more awesome games!

  • http://www.facebook.com/CalientePhoenix Phoenix Caliente

How is this game on introducing people like me, who never knew of the Fate series before this game, to the series and story as contained within?

  • Justin Wilson

I wouldn’t mind knowing what sources they used for localizing certain terms Nasu created (such as Noble Phantasm, Reality Marble, Magic Circuit, whether they’re using Mana or Prana, etc.).

Also, how many copies would they need to sell to be able to localize Fate/Extra CCC? Would they consider a digital release of CCC if PSP hardware loses its momentum in the US, to capitalize on the Vita?

Would they be willing to include Figurines in special editions of this franchise, similar to the Japanese releases? The Fate fanbase seems to be willing to pay quite a premium for them (at least I am).

  • http://www.carpefulgur.com SpaceDrake

There’s quite a bit of… “esoteric terminology”, shall we say, attached to the magic system of this franchise, with certain translations already popular in the fanbase. Did Aksys retain all of the existing terminology translations when preparing the game script or were changes made so that things sounded more “sensible”?

Also, why was “Extra” kept in the title for the U.S. release? We’ve never gotten Fate/stay night in an official capacity, so it seems a little strange that this title would keep the “Extra” when it isn’t, well “extra” for us. Wouldn’t something like “Fate/lunar phantasm” have been a bit more descriptive and potentially less confusing (“Hey, what is this an ‘extra’ to?” etc).

    • http://www.aksysgames.com Belisarius

When the title of your game looks like a directory structure, I think “not confusing” has already passed you by.

      • Kibbitz

I suppose it’s even more fitting for this iteration that your Master support spells are effectively programming functions? =P

      • http://www.carpefulgur.com SpaceDrake

Haha, fair enough :V Main question still stands, though!

    • Kibbitz

      Just a personal opinion.

I’m generally for keeping original names on several levels so you don’t have the issues when talking to foreign fans you meet (see Working!!! vs Wagnaria), so it actually feels even stranger to me to have something named differently just because you guys didn’t get things. Cue  US’ Final Fantasy III being actually Final Fantasy VI, or worse, US Tales of Destiny 2 is Tales of Eternia in Japan, and then a different Tales of Destiny 2 actually gets released in Japan.

As a personal question, why Lunar Phantasm? My command of Japanese is definitely limited but I don’t remember seeing anything that would point to Lunar Phantasm making more sense as a title. Wouldn’t mind you pointing me to the appropriate literature to avoid spoiling others.

      • http://www.carpefulgur.com SpaceDrake

The “Lunar Phantasm” thing has to do… with the plot, especially later on. Check GameFAQs or similar spoiler sites for more info, if you want it.

And I know some people bristle at name changes, but Fate/Extra just strikes me as “not quite right” for this particular market. I really am afraid people who might otherwise play it might get confused.

        • Kibbitz

I did. I’ve seen some things mentioned that have a lunar bent but not enough to just call this ‘Lunar Phantasm’. I’m either looking at the wrong sites or the information has been removed or I’m missing it during the search. If you have something more precise, I’d be grateful if you could share it.

It did occur to me though that while EU and US didn’t get Fate/Stay Night as a game, they did get Fate/Unlimited Codes. In that sense, this can be seen as an Extra to that, I guess? That aside, the other possibility is that they are banking mostly on sales from the people who are in the know and thus, didn’t change it. Still, I guess it’ll be interesting to hear their answer.

    • http://twitter.com/bta_man BTA

The anime was released here (and I think the manga too?), though. Though I do agree that that’s a valid reason not to use Extra, it’s not like people haven’t heard of the original in some form.

  • http://twitter.com/TheRyusui Ryusui

Considering that Fate/Extra is related to a popular VN (or VN series, I’m not sure which), what are the odds that Aksys will localize more VNs or VN-related games in the future?

Obviously Zennin Shibou Desu/Good People Die is a lock after the success of 999, but there’s still Umineko and Ougon Musou Kyoku on PS3…

  • http://twitter.com/Vanpan110494 Sentoro Katarashi

    To Aksys:

Have any of you guys played the game before? If so, how did you guys like it?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Rudy-Soto/100001518601121 Rudy Soto

What made you decide to pick such a niche title to begin with? Though I wanted the game to be localized, I never thought it would land overseas, so I was surprised at the news of its localization.

  • http://twitter.com/ChestnutBowl Chestnut Bowl

How aggravating was it to translate Nasu’s writing into English? Also, what the hell is a magic circuit?

Was an English dub considered? Lastly, why spend the money to release a UMD game when the North American PSP market is considered to be so poor (not a complaint, I actually prefer physical formats)?

    • Exkaiser

A magic circuit is like, you know, a hot iron you insert into your spine! That’s what Shirow always says.

But going by the descriptions in Fate/Stay Night, Magic Circuits are essentially a nervous system for magic.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu

Even if it’s a Nasu story, and that I haven’t seen too much of the game, I doubt it’s as complex as the novels.

  • http://twitter.com/Laith_Rem Laith Rem

I do have some questions, yes yes.

    1) Does the “fan” terminology will be used? Ex. Noble Phantasm, Reality Marble, etc.
    2) While I am grateful for being localized, I truly am, any particular reason it was picked up? Or was it just fan demand?
    3) Will the battle chatter on the servant battles will be subtitled?

    Thanks in advance, yes.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ex-Detsu/100001670613988 Ex Detsu

Are we getting Japanese audio? Does anyone at Axsys have any thoughts on the game itself?

    • JustaGenericUser

Game is confirmed to be japanese audio only, no dubs.

  • sdragon21

    2 Questions:
1: Will there be a PSN Version, and if so, will it be less than the Physical version???
    2. When can we expect to here about an official release date for Fate/Extra??

  • Rarutos

I’d also like to thank Aksys for localizing this game!

What was the drive to localize this game in English, despite the obvious PSP disadvantage? Are you guys looking into other PSP games aside from Hakuoki and this?

Hope this is a viable question. :x

  • ovg8

Q: Will the Noble Phantasms have their full names? ie, rather than just Avalon, Avalon: All is a Distant Utopia?

  • Gohobojoe

I really love the fact that Aksys employees pop in Siliconera every now and then.
    1) Dubbing terminology, which has been asked by others already.
    2) What exactly made this translation happen?

  • http://zerodestinypro.blogspot.com/ Zero_Destiny

So I’m not saying this to be Mr.Unlikable or Stick-in-the-Mud over here. I love Japanese Audio as much as the next guy. But I’m going to ask this because even though I love the Japanese voices for this series I am a fan of dubs as well(the Fate/Stay Night Anime dub I did like).

What was your main reason for not including a dub and only opting for the Japanese Audio?

Do you think this will limit your fanbase? Or is your main focus just selling it to the already established fans of the series?

If it’s the latter does that mean you are maybe trying the waters for other Fate/ games? I understand maybe not the Visual Novels since they may be out of your realm but other handheld or Console games in the future if it works out? Or am I jumping the gun here and you don’t have any long term thoughts per se?

*Please don’t flame me or yell at me for liking dubs. And please don’t insult the dub for the Fate/Stay Night anime ether,(You can not like it that’s totally cool but if your just gonna reply to me to say how much you don’t like the dub please don’t) I’ve gotten enough of that in the past already.

    • SeventhEvening

I think you answer your own question:
Q: “Do you think this will limit your fanbase?”

A: “Please don’t flame me or yell at me for liking dubs. And please don’t insult the dub for the Fate/Stay Night anime ether,(You can not like it that’s totally cool but if your just gonna reply to me to say how much you don’t like the dub please don’t) I’ve gotten enough of that in the past already.”

I think a vast majority of players who would pick up a game with anime characters on the cover, or a game with a title like Fate/Extra are OK with Japanese audio, even if they like dubbing. Since you feel you might get flamed just because you like the dubs should be evidence of that. Adding an english track costs money, and it probably wouldn’t transfer into sales for a title like this. And if there isn’t space for both tracks, then they risk losing anti-dub audience. I’ve heard more people complain about the English voices in Persona 3/4 (which are really pretty good) and the lack of a Japanese track than I have heard people complain about a lack of English dubbing in Agarest or Atelier Anne.

      Just my two cents.

      • Hraesvelgr

That’s because Agarest and the Atelier games are even more niche than Persona and because Japanese audio whiners are typically more vocal than English audio whiners.

        Just saying.

        • SeventhEvening

Well, that kind of proves my point. I’m pretty sure that fate/extra is more obscure than Persona.

    • Rarutos

Pretty sure they already stated somewhere that they’re not including it because it wouldn’t really be too worth it to dub it in the end. It’s a PSP title, the market for PSP games is nearly dead, and it just wouldn’t be profitable to do so, since it does cost a bit of money to hire actors and dub the game.

So in short, it saves money. P:

    A couple o questions:
1-¿The game will have the original japanese voices? If so, ¿would it have subtitles?
2-¿Exactly when is going to be release?

    • Hraesvelgr

The game will be in Japanese only, with English text/subtitles.

  • http://www.facebook.com/VirusChris Christopher Nunes

First off I like to thank Aksys for bringing Fate/Extra over in the US, with the story full translated into English. I own the Japanese version and I love it, but I like to know what the story is about however I only understand tiny bits of Japanese so I look forward to the US release.

    Here are my questions:
    1. What made you decide to bring Fate/Extra over to the US? (Not that I’m complaining, I’m super happy and getting it day one!)
    2. Is the release date near the end of October or early November and is there going to be a Special/Limited Edition to the game? If so, what’s going to be in it?
    3. Is the game going to have US exclusive content or will it just be the same as the Japanese game with its content?
    4. Is the game going to be digitally download or UMD release or both?
    5. Are they a lot of references to the original Fate/stay night VN?
    6. Do the Male and Female Protagonists have any noticeable difference from each other in terms of story and gameplay?
    7. On the Rin and Rani Routes in the game, is it possible to romance them like if you romance your own Servants (ex: Male MC x Saber or Caster, Female MC x Archer)? Just curious!

Thank you for your time, and thanks again for bringing this game over here! Aksys you rock!

    • Kibbitz

      7. Nope =x

      • http://www.facebook.com/VirusChris Christopher Nunes

Oh well, but do either one of them display some form of affection for the Protagonist?

And thank you for your reply.

        • Kibbitz

          You’re welcome.

IIRC, yes, they both grow closer to you as you support them after the specific events you see earlier that resulted in the route branch. Don’t believe it’s in the romantic sense though whichever gender you are, but you’d probably be better off asking Aksys to confirm this. It’s been a while and I did one male run through Rin’s and one female through Rani’s, and stopped my Archer run once I heard that a US version was in the cards. I’m probably going to redo all of it, though I think it’ll be a lot easier knowing what I know and with it being in English.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu

      5. Absolutely not. F/E is more of a sidestory game, nothing to do with the original. Pretty much why Ryougi and Arcueid are there. Archer and Saber/Extra “looking like” Saber from Fate are your only conceivable references.

  • http://twitter.com/bta_man BTA

    1. What’re the staff members’ favorite characters?
    2. I’m joining the others asking about terminology- I remember seeing something about trying to keep fans happy with it, so is that true?
    3. Building off of that, was there anything you wanted to name a certain way but were made to change to an “official” term by Imageepoch (or Type-Moon, etc.)?
    4. Any news on the Special/Limited Edition and what’ll be included with it?
    5. Will Ben ever learn to love;odd/titles? Will bribing help?

Also, just want to thank the Aksys staff for bringing this over at all! :3

  • http://eee.am/Sorans Sorans

As all questions I had have already been asked by others, I’ll just thank Aksys as a Type-Moon fan and Imageepoch supporter for picking this game :3

  • Exciel

    Can Shiki kill Servants?

    • Kibbitz

Not sure what you mean by that. You fight her as a bonus boss in NewGame+, so if you lose, you die. Is there something specific you’re looking for in terms of meaning?

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Wayne-LaBranch/100002132711844 Wayne LaBranch

No no he means like the universe of Type-moon story and stuff, not this game exactly

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1307850068 Anthony Newell

      Definitely. Either Shiki could.

Ciel is a different story. It’d be a close fight either way.

      • Historiata

Really? SHIKI/Shiki’s ability involves speeding up death. By contrast, the prerequisite for being a Servant is existing outside of time and space, so they can’t really be “cut out” if what’s holding them to reality is magic rather than actual vitality. You can’t push someone down who’s already on the floor, and all that, right?

  • Wackoramaco87

Not sure if this question has been asked yet, and I’m too tired to look through all the comments, but for those of us who are completely new to the series and don’t have time to watch the anime or anything- will we be completely confused (about characters, terms, etc)? Or will you be including something that will explain all of that?

Also, do items and/or experience carry over through every new game? Or will one have to start from the beginning with everything?

Last but not least, THANK YOU so much for bringing this over! =D

    • Kibbitz

For your second question, Fate/Extra has NewGame+ where you carry over money, healing items, equipment (barring one unique item that doesn’t keep) and enemy pattern data.

    • Ian Nei

Since Fate/Extra is in a parallel universe/is a spinoff to the rest of the Fate universe, I’d assume everything would be explained since nothing should carry over from the original Fate universe.

  • Exkaiser

What is your favorite piece of flavor text in the game?

    • Historiata

Oh, and on the other hand, what really pushed your buttons about the text?

  • Nerroth

    Hello.

*fights down urge to ask about CCC*

    Sorry, there.

    Two questions:

*If/when the F/E site goes live, how much of the material from the Japanese site (to include the various story clips and whatnot) will be translated and added in?

*What will be included in the Aksys LE?

  • http://twitter.com/17_Dissection Irysa

If you’re interested in Type Moon products, is there a chance you might be interested in localising other TM products? Most notably Melty Blood. The Melty community in the US and across the world would be in your debt forever if you could get the game to a larger audience.

DERP, didn’t read the part about nothing else, sorry.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Aunna-Terrell/100001267508146 Aunna Terrell

lol, I really don’t have any questions, since mine were kinda already answered when the title was first announced..

But~! Even though this game isn’t being dubbed into English… If you could have dubbed the game, what English voice actors would you have chosen for the game? lol Doesn’t matter which region/studio.. just which voice actors would you choose.

  • JustaGenericUser

I’ll probably be repeating what others said, but:

    1. Thank you for delivering Fate/Extra to us! What made you decide to publish it? Were there any difficulties?

    2. Is it PSN-only, a physical release, or both? Also, will there be a Limited Edition?

    3. Is it true it’s japanese audio only? No english voices? I usually play my JRPGs in English even when there’s a japanese voice option and I’ll be a bit saddened if I won’t be able to hear a memorable english voice for Saber and the rest.

    4. Are there different cutscenes and multiple endings depending on the gender of the MC and the Servant you chose?

    5. Is there any chance you might publish other Nasuverse games in the future, such as Melty Blood? Or even the visual novels?

    6. And last but not least: Can Shiki REALLY kill Servants?

    • Kibbitz

      4. MC and Servant don’t affect the ending in a grand way. Same things still happen, different dialogue due to interactions and personality differences between Servants. There are two routes ingame depending on a key decision which leads to a different ending for each route for a total of two endings. Game IIRC doesn’t have any real cutscenes either featuring Servants, most of the scenes are with the game engine and just has the appropriate servant doing the appropriate actions instead.

      • JustaGenericUser

Looks like I’ll only do up to two playthroughs then since it seems like there’s really no point trying out any of the different combinations.

        • Kibbitz

Well, a playthrough is fairly quick in NewGame+ with all that story familiarity and carryover perks, so a case may be made to just play through the third Servant quickly for the sake of experiencing that Servant’s own personal story.  YMMV of course.

lol, for #3, yes.. it’s Japanese audio only.

      • JustaGenericUser

I just wanted a definite confirmation from them, but yeah, that seems very likely. Sucks for me.

    • Nerroth

      2. There is an LE listed; Aksys haven’t said yet what’s actually in it, though.

    • RablaAndrews

      6. Kill ‘anything’ includes Servants.

Plus *SPOILER ALERT* Ryougi Shiki is a bonus boss in F/E and she WILL kill you.

      • JustaGenericUser

Your “spoiler alert” doesn’t quite work when people (like me) read fast and see the spoiler before the alert.

        Probably should have done like
        -
        -
        -
        -
        -
this. This place needs spoiler tags…

        • Hraesvelgr

          Do you read backwards?

          • http://twitter.com/bta_man BTA

When there’s no break between the alert and the spoilers, it’s pretty easy to see the spoilers before you realize what you’re doing.

          • Historiata

Yeah. It’s like your eye captures a block of text, and your mind reads it, you know?

2.it was confirmed to be both PSN and a retail release.

      • JustaGenericUser

Sweet. I hope PSN doesn’t cost the same as retail, though.

  • SirRichard

Probably not up to you, but you do know of any European publishers looking to pick up the game? Are you yourselves considering just publishing it on the PSN?

If not, then I’ll just import it, no harm.

  • http://twitter.com/Shikuem Laura

    1. Why did you decided to localize Fate/Extra?
    2. What’s going to be in the LE, a Saber Extra figma?
    3. In some parts of the game the characters are talking and there’s not subtitles, what are you going to do?

  • Crimson_Cloud

Well, first of all you should really let Aksys know that the fans on Siliconera really appreciate the fact that they are keeping the PSP alive, and if possible ask them if they are planning to do so in the future as well.  I also thank them for leaving the Japanese audio, thats a big plus in my book. And yes, like few of them stated below already, why did the localization suddenly took place? High fan demand or did they just happen to get across a ”good” deal?

And ask them who they prefer more in Fate/Extra, Saber or Caster :3

  • Learii

    1. what kinda game is this?
2  who will be in the game?
3  will this game be remaster to ps3 one day?

  • Mister_Nep

How different will the story be for each of the servants? Specifically, will there be any changes like different bosses if I chose Caster instead of Saber, or something like that?

    • Kibbitz

Your choice of Servant has no real impact on the main story. Obviously the dialogue will be different as appropriate as per the Servant, but you are not going to see any major differences outside of your personal interactions with your Servant. The changes that you are talking about are affected by something else.

I’m going to answer a question in advance, as I’ve already emailed Aksys with this question a few weeks ago. This game will indeed be available on the Playstation Network – so feel no guilt in purchasing a PSVita, knowing that it cannot play UMDs. The PSN download version should be playable on the new console just fine.

  • Historiata

A huuuuuuuuuuuuuge thank you from me to the studio for doing this! If I fully expressed my enthusiasm, my keyboard would be all busted cause I’d be typing too fast! Anyways, to the questions!

Will there be a tasty soundtest? Oh, and how much would you say the soundtrack pays homage to the original game?

I want to thank the Aksys team for taking the time to answer questions and
    Siliconera for making this possible.

    My questions:

    1. Did the team have any contact with Kinoko Nasu or Takashi Takeuchi during their work on the localization of Fate/Extra?

    2. Were there any nonnegotiable conditions about the localization from Type-Moon, Image Epoch, or Marvelous Entertainment?

    3. Were there any part of the translation you had to fight for/change/comprise on with either with the Japanese or internally?

    4. If the game is successful enough would you consider bring over anything like an art book or addtional mechandise or in that not part of the Aksys business model?

Just 2 questions: will the game be realeased in Europe? (Britain to be exact) if not retail realesed can it be possible to put on the Europian PSN store?

2 question: And if the game is not retail realesed can it be possible to put on the Europian PSN store?
I am a huge type-moon fan and so are my friends and we would just kill for it to be realeased over here.

Thank you Aksys for making this game possible to play in english.
