Conduct AR Vocaloid Concerts In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai For Nintendo 3DS

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai on the Nintendo 3DS will combine Vocaloids with the Nendoroid super-deformed style for a rhythm game. While details on the game are scarce, the coolest announced feature so far is the ability to hold Augmented Reality concerts.

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai will be released in March 2012.

    • Christian Wright

thats where the 3DS lost me :(

…Well this is the first time the region locking annoys me.

  • Xerain

If they announce a Miku Themed 3Ds bundle with it I might finally be getting a 3DS.

  • nyoron

Well with Senran Kagura and now this… it was inevitable but I guess I’ll be importing a J3DS. Just as planned, right Nintendo?

    March 9th I bet!

    • Mister_Nep

You know. That’d be very clever of Sega.

  • Shadow_Raskolnik

I really don’t see the appeal behind Hatsune Miku and Vocaloids in general. Does it have something to do with that “moe” fascination in Japan or is there some other reason why these things are so popular?

    • Suicunesol

What, you don’t think SD Hatsune Miku is adorable? :)

It’s probably popular because of what Vocaloid really is–an electric voice-synthesizer software. You can write lyrics and have the electronic voice of Hatsune Miku sing them for you in your song. Miku herself is just a cute personification of the voice–a mascot.

Considering it’s from the country that karaoke came from, it’s not incredibly surprising that it caught on. And yes, “moe” probably has something to do with it also.

This is the first time i really feel sad with the region lock hiks.

  • neetloaf

Gah, I completely forgot about the 3DS region lock when I first saw this article.

…Not that it’s going to stop me, but it’s still kind of annoying now that it actually affects me. *sigh* Looks like I’m going to have to import a jipjop 3DS along with Project Mirai come March. The things I do for Vocaloid~

It’s just too adorable to pass up.

Here’s more info and the trailer if anyone wants to see! (from Sega’s Project Diva Blog) http://miku.sega.jp/info/0271

And more info from Piapro: http://blog.piapro.jp/2011/09/sega3dsproject-mirai.html
Seems like the rhythm game mechanics will be simple :( (was hoping for something more like EBA/Ouenda)

That’s it… Im officially fraked off with Nintendo now. I need this game no matter what but I refuse to buy a Japanese 3DS to do so. Im “THIS” close to boycotting the whole Goddamn console. Screw you and your pathetic Region Locking rule, Nintendo. T_T

  • aoihana

Wow i’m so happy that i bought my 3DS. From the looks of it, this will be an awesome game and ar concerts?! Sugoi? It would be awesome if your Mii can go to concerts online with other Miis…2012 will be a great year!

    • theworldofnoboundries

      Region Lock boy?

  • theworldofnoboundries

Miku cheerleader just make my hear doki doki.

  • malek86

I actually kinda prefer standard-sized Miku, like in the Diva series.

That said, if they did localize it (impossible), I would probably get it.

Eehhh I agree with you somewhat, but chibi Miku performing a concert on my desk would definitely brighten my day.

  • MarkMario

. . . And I won’t have a chance to play it due to the 3DS’s region lock (if I ever buy one).

I’d like to have touchscreen controls for this.

I’d like to have touchscreen controls, ’cause if the gameplay looks like that, I prefeer Project Diva for psp, lol.
