Next Tales Game Is Tales Of The Heroes?Namco Bandai opened a teaser site for a new Tales game with no information other than a countdown clock. We may have the title’s name, though!

 

While digging through Japan’s trademark database we discovered Namco Bandai registered Tales of the Heroes. Seems like an appropriate title for a Tales of series anniversary and Namco Bandai is celebrating 15 years of Tales…

 

The next Tales game will be revealed later this week.

    Doesn’t that name not really mean anything at all? I mean, it *could* be the name, but so could many many other names that Namco has trademarked as possible names for the Tales of series. I would think that if that name was just newly trademarked (don’t know when it was) then that would cut it out as the possible one since they’ve apparently already been working on this game. Unless they do take a lot of time to official a name.

    If this is related to that teaser site. SOn of a…. The name gives an impression of a cross-over game. ughhh. We will find out soon in two days.

    So anniversary title it seems… It would be something like Theatrhythm FF ? With more RPG elements I hope :)

      Some of the have made sense. Legendia was a reference to the Legacy (the ship) and The Abyss was the murky purple/black ooze under the crust on the planet in that game. Vesperia was the name of a guild. Graces was about putting on airs into order to maintain dignity and respect for one’s clan. Phantasia was the first and likely a ref to the fact that it’s a fantasy story. Destiny and Rebirth speak for themselves as does Innocence since the lead in that game didn’t want to fight and instead wants to be a doctor.

      Although, I will admit I don’t know why Xillia is named that.

          I guess you’re right about that. If it were me I’d never name them anything that wasn’t directly explain in each game.

    I dont really know how I feel about this unless I see gameplay and no the content. A crossover is intriguing, but I guess I was hoping it would be something of a mainline title. Oh well, hope.

    I hope it’s not like Tales of the World. I want a full mothership Tales game to be next. And please send it over to the US and Europe.

      They just had a mothership title. It’s called Tales of Xillia. They’re not going to announce another mothership title immediately after releasing a mothership title.

        I know. But, they could. I heard somewhere that they plan multiple games at once and we only hear about them one after another. Think about it. If you’re trying to stay ahead of the curve you gotta keep moving.

    That’s funny, because there was a comment in the previous post about how “Tales of the Heroes” was a more likely name than “Tales of I Don’t Have Any Friends Anymore”.

    I guess it was more likely. :O

    Really hoping for an escort title. Now that Namco Bandai’s paying attention to us again we need time to catch up! I don’t wanna hear about the next title till Xillia’s being actively translated.

    It has to be some compilation or spin-off of some sort. Tales of Heroes sounds to generic to be a main Tales of entry.

    Yup aside from the lazy, kinda lame title.  Its probably a small spin off game for the Vita/3DS, like the ToW games (which are…meh) who knows, we’ll see

    Tales of the Heroes, a 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works while Tales Studio monitoring and helping the developments. The characters who’ll make appearance in this game would be the most popular ones like Yuri, Luke, Kratos, etc….

    Tales of ‘the’ Heroes? Maybe I have a one track mind today, but my mind totally jumped to “Mithos the Hero.” But they probably wouldn’t make a game where we already know the outcome.

    I enjoyed Tales of the World and this hilarious review by Gamespot is one of the reasons why I bought it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3xHpcZSpdw I later learnt the Snow Strawberry outfit is from Idolmaster, a crossover within a crossover.

    I suppose they’re unlikely to localize a numbered sequel without the
    previous installments being localized first to avoid confusing people,
    so a new name is good a good move.
