There’s Already Another Tales Game

Tales of Xillia hasn’t even been out for a week and Namco Bandai is already moving on to the next Tales title. The publisher opened a teaser site for New Tales of and the timer is counting down to Tokyo Game Show.

Will it be a remake? A mothership or an escort title? And what console will it be for? Place your bets in the comments, everyone.

ToA was a localized PS2 game, honestly… Who really cares that it’s going to 3DS when it’s not better than the PS2 version? We should have gotten Vesperia instead.

I’ve no clue what it could be, I’m assuming a new escort title for maybe a Vita or a mothership title being developed. No matter what it is though, I hope Namco Bandai of the US and Europe make an announcement for localizing Tales of Xillia soon. I mean someone went poking around in the files and found a possible hint at localization files but nothing’s set in stone…sadly. Either way, I hope Xillia makes its way to North American and European shores soon.

That is true…sadly. However, I read a something stating the producer, Makoto Yoshizumi, of the Tales series said that Xillia would be localized if the fans of NA and EU had enough spark. So I guess all we have to do is just show support and want for it…no matter what though I still hope it makes its way to NA and EU.
I’m tired of being jipped on JRPGs, all I ever get these days is a new Final Fantasy…

A spin-off. That’s how Namdai calls the spin off games to the Tales of franchise. Main titles = mothership titles. Spin offs = Escort titles.
Tales of Tempest was supposed to be a mothership title, but ended end pushed towards the escort title cathegory. Tales of Symphonia DotnW is also an escort title, but it’s actually a direct sequel of sorts to a mothership title. So to call all of the escort titles “spin-offs” is not accurate and precise, but that’s the easiest way to explain it I believe.

That’s a little fast. But you know what, if it’s this early of an “announcement”, it might mean that haven’t really started working on it yet. They had just finished Xillia, and unless they were working on both at once, I don’t see this one being released in maybe a year or two.
Take your time, Namdai. I’m happy that you’re making another one, but don’t rush.

I bet it’s a Vita launch title. That and Monster Hunter and we have an instant launch-line-up winner in Japan, unlike 3DS’s botched launch (lineup).

Soooo…what I’m getting out of this is that you’re saying Xillia is a horrible game and that they’re making too many Tales titles? Have you played it and is it truly bad from your experience? I am genuinely curious since I haven’t played it; especially since everything about Xillia looked like they had put all kinds of work into it and made it into an amazing game.
Personally, I’ve absolutely loved every Tales game I’ve played and I get that some people don’t, I just think its silly when some start saying that they’re just making too many. Its a long running series of stand alone games, isn’t it good that they’re keeping up with it and releasing a lot, especially when most people are absolutely loving them and the games are making great sales?

My copy was just shipped out yesterday by yesasia and I can’t wait to lay my hands on it. The producers said they tailored TOX to PS3′s strength’s =) Guess that’s why we’re getting fully animated sequences this time around. Their quality is top notch as well, based on you-tube footage released so far.
Xillia seems to be the best Tales yet and an awesome JRPG. I reckon this is a Vita title and I am excited for it. At least devs try to utilize lots of Vita’s unique features in their games and i can’t wait to see how a Tales game on Sony’s new handheld will turn out.

Juuuust a second, fellas. You’re making assumptions (and we all know what that makes out of “u and m(e)”). I appreciate that you went through the effort to defend the Tales series Natsuno, but I am by no means actually bashing the game so much as I am questioning the people who worked on the Xillia project ONLY to start up another one a few months later.
You can’t possibly have faith in your product if you go announcing such a thing so easily -what does that achieve? All it does is create a sense of paranoia about whether or not Xillia will be outdone in the now known near-future. In that sense, the only answer I can think of is that they’re trying to pull a Hail Mary and get as many titles on the market as possible -therefore making titles under this great series seem more like something to collect rather than something to enjoy as you play it over and over (I played ToS and ToP, so I know the feeling, haha ha).
(And ro-kurorai, what are you trying to achieve saying something exclusively opinionated? xD)
EDIT: Looks like Natsuno said a bit in the last paragraph I missed, haha ha. Anyways, games have always been something that I’ve had the comfort of playing continuously. How can I fully enjoy it when thoughts of something possibly better come around? They’re all standalone, yes, but within just the first hour or so, you can always tell it’s a Tales game, you know? This is only watering down how entertaining they are individually.

My thoughts and wishes:
*I pray that this is a mothership title. DOTNW was a bad spin-off/escott/ sequel so i dont think they will do another one. I dont think its a RM game. They tried it with RM1, it only worked well in Japan. This time it looks like they want more support besides Japan. we will see.
*it looks like it is going to the vita. The 3ds already has a tales game. Ps3 has three tales game(vesperia,graces f, xillia). NA is getting one, (possibly 2(graces f and xillia)). That leaves the vita.

I don’t know why you all are so shocked. They announced new Tales game before the latest one being out and killing all momentum the newest Tales game had. They were smart to do this AFTER the release.
Also, the text is the same font as Tales of Destiny so I’m placing bets on Tales of Destiny Director’s Cut being ported to Vita. I would buy that in a hot second if it has a special edition.
