Watch The Complete Prologue For Dark Souls

By Ishaan . September 15, 2011 . 12:02pm

Watching the Dark Souls prologue in bits and pieces was probably a little confusing. Namco Bandai now have the entire prologue — including part 4 — edited into a single video, which you can watch below:

You know. I’m still hung up on that very ugly and badly edited “YOU WILL DIIIEE!11″ official trailer that Bandai made that obviously wanted to appeal to a more casual crowd while incidentally insulting our collective intelligence with an attempt to hype up the action by showing less of it (Yeah, makes no sense doesn’t it?)

So you know… Being able to see this classy bit here makes me feel much better…

Appeal to two audiences. You’re hung up over something you shouldn’t be. Get over it.

The easily impressed and the majority of what plagues the modern gaming community?

But seriously. It’s something that you ignore as you move forward since it’s in no way representative of the final product. Thankfully.

Though it still makes you worry about Bandai Namco in more ways then one. For one part, it certainly makes you feel that their PR department is seriously lacking and suffering… Yes, late reply.

      Wat…

I agree and to be honest i’m getting a bit  tired with the “YOU WILL DIE!!!” slogan Namco keeps on repeating over and over again.Yes we will die,and this game will be hard.we understand that. But is that all there is to this game?

Those who played Demon’s Souls know that the game had much more important qualities than just its difficulty.Atmosphere, immersion, controls, story, characterization, world theme, tension, innovative online play were all so greatly implemented that imo were much more important than it’s difficulty. And to be honest it wasn’t that hard if you played carefully, patiently and cleverly.
So i’m glad that at least these prologue trailers focused more on the “subtle” elements of the Souls series.

Mah bois, this game is what all true warriors strive for.

Much as I loved its predecessor I’m going to have to wait on getting this one. Being a poor gamer means I have to be pretty selective about what I buy and when.
    Looks great though.

I think you need to work on your selection.

      • Fonic

Maybe. I am most likely going to buy Atelier Totori this month despite being underwhelmed by Rorona after all.
NISA games never seem to go on sale though.

        • LezardValeth

So you “loved” Demon’s Souls but you’re going to buy a sequel to a game that “underwhelmed” you instead. ALL OF MY WAT.

          • Fonic

Dark Souls will go on sale; probably relatively quickly. There’s no rush to get it. Totori, which looks to have addressed most of my issues with Rorona, will not go on sale anytime soon, if at all. That’s my reasoning.
And I did love Demon’s Souls. I even went to the rather pointless effort of getting the platinum for it.

Gotta hold onto them Cawwadooty funds….

      • Fonic

Yeah…no. Never been a huge FPS gamer. I did buy Deus Ex for 35 bucks this week though.

I was waiting for a ‘Betrayed by the Gods of Olympus’ with a narrator like that.

    Going to be awesome.
