Dragons Dogma To Feature Weapons From Upcoming Berserk Movie

Studio 4°C are working on an upcoming Berserk film to be released in January 2012. A collaboration has been arranged between the film and Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma game, which will feature both weapons and armour from the film, according to a translated report at Anime News Network.

 

This is because Dragon’s Dogma producer, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, as well as several other members of the game’s development team, are fans of the original Berserk manga.

 

The game is slated for release in early 2012. So far, there’s no word on whether the collaboration is only for Japan or whether it will be featured in the U.S. and European versions of the game as well.

    That’s really spiffy. I actually wonder how a current-gen Berserk game would turn out? Guess it depends on the developer.

      If it was current-gen and used more of the current storyline, I can see the game being pretty awesome. But it would definitely depend on the developer.

    The Dragonslayer… Too big, too thick, to heavy and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron

    Also there are 5 God Hands in Berserk lol (Double God Hand Gene’s going to have a bit of trouble haha) EDIT: It seems like there is a God Hand in Inazuma Eleven too lol

    Er… too many Capcom related things to Berserk…

    Pretty cool that Berserk is still relevant. I finished the Dreamcast game not too long ago and thought it aged supremely well.

      Well, since the manga is probably not that close to ending and has only gotten better, I can see why it’s still relevant.

      really?!, I tried to play berserk on the dreamcast a couple of weeks ago and It was impossible, the graphics, the physics, the animation…I love berserk`s manga and I love the anime… and I love the dreamcast!!!, but berserk on the dreamcast, is just a mess.

        The PS2 game is way better.  It’s been a long time since I’ve played it though.  A little slow, definitely more for manga fans than people looking for an amazing action game. Probably hasn’t aged super well either. 

        It was significantly better than the DC game though.

        I see where you are going with the flow of Capcom doing Dragon’s Dogma, but I don’t think Capcom should do a Berserk game lol, it’s pretty self explanatory.

    I first thought playing with Archer looks cool but with GUTS’s DRAGON SLAYER on the game. Time to change job into Warrior. Hmm can i also use exoskeleton too plizzz? (Grifith….. Kamen rider formmm!!!)

      Oh yeah, that’ll totally work out for the best.

      *Equips it, suddenly doesn’t get any knockback or staggger or stun-locking, enhances power and no matter even if HP is nill, for some reason, you’re not dead but your max HP slowly dwindles after you keep takin damage after dying and sometimes at random intervals when enemies are too close, the game spins you over to attack those instead for a moment making you lose control… And then, you start doubting if you should’ve ever put on the damned cursed thing*

      I mean what? No yeah, it’d be totally awesome and badass! But making it’s powers available would equally be badass but at times worrysome, much like Guts’ situation… I mean seriously, badass but worrysome… Unless of course you piggyback a little magical girl who’ll be able to give you control.

    I see you people and your hankering for Gut’s huge hunk of iron… and I raise you the Skull Knights freaking dimension-cleaving sword.

    Sure, you must first go through an optional quest in which you become a vengeful wraith bound to a life of torment, but dude- a sword so awesome you can CUT DIMENSIONS. Totally worth it :D

    Berserk….. Why am I not surprised we’re seeing the beginning arcs all over again? Great, now I have to sit through Gutz watching his Girlfriend getting screwed by demons again.

    Yea, I read the article I think 2 days ago, anyways, I was kind of avoiding Berserk at first when I heard about the grotesque profanities in the ending of the anime among other things, plus the dark animation and art direction made me assume it would be even more disturbing than the summary. But with this new revival of the series with glossy and fresh animation and the fact that they are attempting to adapt the entire thing, I think I’ll give it a shot. Who knows, maybe all the gore and r@pe will be a thing of beauty ;P. As for DD, this collaboration piqued my interest more than the game itself when I saw the first trailer, so I think I’ll wait for some reviews until I decide whether or not to get it, but this new Berserk feature has grabbed my attention.

        Well they are planning to this time around I believe, I wonder how many years it will span though >.> I mean, they are making a large series of movies to supposedly adapt the entire manga, arc by arc. It would be nice if they did that for Blade of the Immortal or Lone Wolf & Cub, I have heard great things about those 2 chanbara stories, but haven’t been able to find the manga volumes for them, maybe if I dig deeper eventually I’ll find them ;P.

    At least one company is owning up to being inspired by Berserk now. VG for years have ripped off Guts blade design.
