Ghostlight Looking Into Expanding Options For Download Buyers, Australian Fans

A new Ghostlight blog update sheds further light on the localization publisher’s plans for the future, with regard to the availability of their games. Among these plans is an effort to make Ghostlight titles available on the Australian PlayStation Store, with Persona 3 Portable slated to lead the way.

Another effort is one to make select collector’s edition trinkets available to consumers that prefer to purchase their games via download, as opposed to physical UMD releases. In cases where licensing rights allow it, Ghostlight also plan to make game OSTs available to download for those that purchase their games via the PlayStation Network.

Finally, for those that like to double-dip and own both a physical UMD copy and a digital PSN release (presumably so they can transfer their games to the Vita at a later date), Ghostlight are investigating the possibility of offering a discount on the physical collector’s editions whenever possible.

Ghostlight is currently one of my favourites European publishers!

btw just noticed the tag next to the heading says europe when, did australia become a part of europe :p

      • Shinji Kazuya

Oh yeah! Rising Star are really great as well! Can’t wait for Rune Factory 3, DoDonPachi Resurrection and Grand Knights History! :3

Yeah, Ghostlight and Rising Star are the very best, love them both.

Australia tends to get lumped into Europe in game releases because both regions use the PAL format.

Oh, you don’t say! They’re on a roll lately! And this news only adds more impression points for me. Especially because my region is Europe.

Though I like owning a physical copy of most things (books, games, etc.) having a digital copy of it is convenient (plus faster loading times?). Though If I can’t have both I’ll deal with carry around UMDs or GBA game paks haha. Very good idea.

oh how i wish more developers would put video game OST’s on PSN :D

that way you can transfar(yes transfar :P) them to PSP then you could put it to any mp3 device or so.

Interesting stuff all of it – especially the part about the soundtrack, which GOG.com has been doing for a lot of their game downloads for awhile now. But I gotta admit, after reading that headline, I was hoping to hear of SOME publisher announcing support for the PSP Remaster thing on PS3. When will that actually start happening? :(

  • Barrylocke89

I just hope that all of these goodies for Europeans are commercially viable.

    ……….

    ………………………..

I wish NA publishers would take a lesson from these guys. Especially the downloadable collector’s items and discounts.

Man, I think I wish I was European.

One more reason to wish I lived across the pond. C’est la vie.

I said last weeks one would be a good one.  If I get the confirmation I’m hoping for this weeks could be another fun update.
