Metroid II: Return of Samus Returns On 3DS Virtual Console In Japan This Week

A Nintendo of Europe release list from August revealed that Metroid II: Return of Samus would be arriving on the 3DS Virtual Console sometime before the end of the year. It turns out Japan is getting the game this week.

While Nintendo’s eShop website hasn’t been updated to mention the upcoming release yet, Nintendo World Report found the game, along with its price and release date, by performing a search on the eShop itself.

Metroid II will release in Japan on September 28th for 400 yen (about $5).

Anybody know where I can buy prepaid cards for the Japanese eShop? Or will a credit card suffice?

What really ripples my nipples about the e-shop is that they force you to “add” money to your account in 10$-minimum increments. What the hell am I going to do with my 87 cent balance, Nintendo?!

Ahem, anyhow, you can use a credit card.

Yeah, those lingering cents would bug me too xD

        lol, thanks!

Don’t thank me, but curse them evil Nintendo accountants as you begrudgingly give them your credit card info.

I don’t mind the 70¢ I have left, it’s takes care of the tax. And the only thing I’m bothered with is the fact that I have to keep entering my cc # everytime. I understand not saving it is due to its portability, but the option shouldve been there.

I remember playing this game on a GBA, and being not particularly enthralled by it. The camera was too zoomed on Samus, making navigation difficult and giving all the areas the same look, and the design was also pretty meh overall.

totally agree, this would be a good candidate for a remake

I remember playing this game on my Game Boy Pocket.

      The box art was cool.

I agree, I loved the game back in the day but geez this is one of those Nintendo games that need a remake big time.  Like Zelda II (another game I love mind you).
