Watch The Debut Trailer For Youkai Watch

Youkai Watch is Level 5’s new project, based around a boy who can see and interact with ghosts (demons?) thanks to a special watch that he wears. Like Level 5’s other major projects, it’s being planned as a multimedia franchise. Here’s the first trailer:

        At first there was a Ni no Kuni Trailer. Or at least there was for me since then it’s been fixed.

          Yeah it really through me off, it was Ni no Kuni at first aswell. Glad to hear it wasn’t just my computer acting up again

    Haha, i admit that i was taken back for it being kinda “childish” , but like inazuma and the others that are like this, it seems this will be good xD, the story while not something  NEW, seems to be well executed xD and it’s funny :D. And of course, level 5 games look wonderful, as always

    Intriguing. With the exception of that ball that released the ghost and a little bit of the music, this is like a ghost version of Digimon and it reminds me more of that than Pokemon IMO. I’m interested. Want more videos and screenshots.

    anyway from the looks of it i’d assume its hd so that marks the 3ds off, i’d assume its for the vita…..

    Ok that gameplay footage confirms it: it’s for HD consoles. That short gameplay footage seriously gave off production vibes like Ni No Kuni.

    Edit: On second look, this series carries a few things from Ni No Kuni: the MC finding an item to help him along, the MC being followed by some supernatural mascot, the MC collecting monsters/ghosts to battle other ghosts. Now we just need an end goal from him to truly make this a game (defeat the evil ghost king, for example).

    XD Such a cute trailer. It made me laugh and it certainly looked like a lot of fun. I think that, for a game, that’s one of the best first impressions it could have.

    My guess is Vita or Wii U. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the in-game footage was that this could make for a cool Wii U title.But right now the Vita is the only system with no Level-5 exclusive from that conference.PS3 – Ni no Kuni (since White Witch is its own thing apart from the DS one)PSP – Gundam AGE, LBX BoostWii – Inazuma Eleven Strikers 2012 Extreme3DS – Guild 01, Girls RPG, Fantasy LifeWii U doesn’t have one either, obviously, but the Vita is the more imminent system which is what leads me to believe it may be for that.

    Haha, this looks great. Wouldn’t mind checking out the show as well.

    Seems like it’d be a fun game with a bit of a collectable element. Don’t think it’ll be too similar to Little Battlers though as that’d be, well, a bit odd. :P

    Looks gorgeous to boot as well! Both the in-game and animated sequences.

    So…judging by the gameplay footage around 1:14, this is for PS3? ‘Cuz it looks just as gorgeous as Ninokuni, technology-wise. I’m assuming this is running on the exact same engine. I suppose it could be for Vita too. Or even Wii U. Something “HD Era”.
