Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has a release date. Capcom will release the multiplayer shooter on March 20th, 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the U.S. The PC version will follow at a later date.

Operation Raccoon City is an alternate “What if” style story set during the events of Resident Evil 2. You play as an Umbrella Security Service with missions such as killing Leon Kennedy.

A special edition of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be available featuring a copy of game, a steel book with exclusive art, stylized foil sleeve, Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch, Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch, and 8 bonus weapons.

Capcom hope to sell around 2 million copies of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Pre-ordering at GameStop, Amazon.com, or Best Buy will give you one additional costume for each of the six playable characters, as well as two bonus weapons for each retail store. All 8 of these weapons are included in the special edition, however.
