My face has tears of joy, while my wallet will cry hard.

They’ve gotta be like 10 bucks each, your wallet will be spared… for now

But your PS3 or PSP’s memory will not. lol I love doing this. :P

  • YarboroughSales

    (Thumbs up)

  • malek86

So they are selling FF5 and FF6 separately? I can’t remember if the Anthology release had them on a single disc or not.

I hope at least Origins won’t get cut in half.

    • Raharu95

      They were not.

    • Ladius

FF4, 5 and 6′s PS1 editions were all stand-alone titles in Japan, while in the USA they had CT and FF4 bundled in the FF Chronicles package and FF5 and 6 in the Anthology package. Europe, on the contrary, had an Anthology bundle with FF4 and 5 (no CT till the DS port) and 6 as a stand-alone game (with a FF10 PS2 demo included, since it was released fairly late in PS1′s life cycle). To sum it up, it was a collector’s nightmare XD

      • malek86

I’ll add that FF1 and FF2 were released separately in Japan, while in USA and Europe they were together as origins… but the USA version was only one disc, while our version was on two discs. Yep, coherence wasn’t Square’s forte.

And I never understood why they didn’t port FF3 in any form for years.

  • PrinceHeir

    freaking amazing O___O

only Einhander and Ehrgeizer left :)

though Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean games would be good too :P

And Brave Fencer Musashi, Tobal 2

I doubt we’d see the PS1 versions of SO2 and VP, but it sure would be nice for them to put the PSP remakes on PSN.

I’m sorry. I was planning on running away with your money once you handed it to me. But you’re far too nice, I’d feel guilty for it. ):

FFV is definitely one of my favorite FF games

  • Kirbysuperstar2

You’d have to pay me to play the PS1 ports of FFV/VI again. Holy hell are they terrible.

  • Solomon_Kano

My 2nd favorite FF game hits PSN on my birthday? NOICE. And we get Chrono Cross and FFV this month?

All of them. I want all of them.

Cool, now I’m just waiting for Chrono Cross on the EU PSN :) DO IT Square Enix !!

  • Zonic505

I have waited so long for Chrono Cross to be re-released & now it’s coming next week. I just hope I have the time to play it.

  • darkraiders

Finally Chrono Cross will be released on psn i have been waiting for that game for so long since the first disc stopped working for my PS1.
But i’ m not really interested in FFV and FFVI since i have the GBA version of both game and they are still working perfectly.

  • http://twitter.com/sakurairomemori Alphabet Soup

I missed out on Chrono Cross the first time around and never finished those two Final Fantasies, so I’m looking forward to this.  My wallet, on the other hand… :)

  • CrazyKnives

    Finally…

  • http://twitter.com/oscarmdc88 Oscar Rocha

How good is the ff6 port?
I would like to have it on my psp, but I always read bad things about ps1´s final fantasy ports

    • malek86

Unlike the PS3, which emulates everything up to the load times, the PSP should cut them a bit.

Nonetheless, I’d wait until somebody can confirm it. The original versions were indeed pretty annoying on that regard, though not nearly as much as Chrono Trigger. Square didn’t get it right until Origins.

      • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

Hahaha, I noticed the load times on PS1 games when playing them on PS3.  Caused me to put my Xenogears save file onto my PSP and just play it there.  Much faster in comparison.

  • http://twitter.com/PafuPafu7 Kevin Lor

Man I want to buy Chrono Cross so freakin bad but I want to finish FFVII first. I just keep delaying it after every 2-3 hours I put in it.

  • Kitestwinblades

I’ve been waiting sooooo long to play Chrono Cross again. After a whole decade, Sweet, sweet Victory!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000301072427 Mark Shaver

Finally!  Though it sucks because I was planning on beating CT before I playerd through CC for the umpteenth time and, due to circumstances, I won’t be able to play it this weekend, meaning I’ll have to choose one or the other next week.

  • AndyFe

This is awesome it’s too bad I already have them all but it’s cool nonetheless. It’ll be good to expose younger gens to these awesome games, if they play them

  • http://www.facebook.com/ValkyrieProfileGuy Jesse Thompson

I’ve been listening to the FF6 soundtracks like crazy lately, and this makes me very happy!  Eager to play it again on the huge TV…too bad it’s probably the remake and not the “He’d slit his momma’s throat for a nickel” version…

  • Ladius

Only marginally related, but is there any info on Arc the Lad on the European PSN? After Sony screwed up uploading the Japanese iso and then removed it we have had no more infos, and the game is still missing from the PsOne Imports section :S

    • http://twitter.com/FaithlessMr Bruno Silva

Well, last week the folks in charge for the weekly update mentioned it’s being fixed. But we know how long stuff like this usually takes in our store so that would mean we having to wait one extra month to get it lol.

Anyway, Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games of all time, so I do hope we also end up getting it in Europe, as an import title :)

  • djdorian

Man, no matter how many times I see them, I can never get over how bad those CG scenes look.  Poor Terra.  And especially poor Celes :(

  • KOKAYI5

Chrono Cross is a given for me.
I’ll wait to get FF6, too many rumors about a 3d version on 3DS or PS Vita too but the old version again.

  • http://twitter.com/StizzyStrawHat Stizzy Straw Hat

Ahh, Chrono Cross. Would definitely love to play this again.

  • LiteIndigold

Chrono Cross…now I can play you on my PSP too?

    This was a triumph.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Aunna-Terrell/100001267508146 Aunna Terrell

Soooo~ totally going to get all 3. :3 Especially FF5 & FF6, since my brother sold my copy of the PS1 collection. XD

  • Croix

Bartz was my favorite character to use playing through Dissidia 012, and reminded me how much I enjoyed FFV. Will be looking forward to playing it again. And Chrono Cross…I think EVERYONE will be looking forward to playing it again.

  • http://www.facebook.com/JaeWhy SasuleUchiha

    Cool , how about type-0 ?

    WHERE IS MY EINHANDER?!

    • KaruCgSt

      I know T.T !!!!! !”#=Ü!”¨%!!!!

      You are not alone :(

  • TcK877

Thank God I was SO CLOSE to buyin FFVI on ebay tmz..I hear its better than FFVII…..ROFLMAO

    • Zadion

Dude, VI is way better than VII. VII is a great game, but VI started a lot of trends that continued into VII, AND excelled in them. To skip out on VI is an utter shame.

  • http://twitter.com/sonofgodzilla Monsieur Désespoir

If only this “Winter of RPGs” included, you know, new games.

  • amagidyne

    Yes. YES.

I’m VERY tempted to pick up Chrono Cross. Never played it before, but man do I love the music. And I’m not alone – in a recent poll of readers from a bunch of hardcore sites (such as hardcore gaming 101), Chrono Cross’ (Time’s Scar)theme was easily the no.1 most favorite VGM track of all time. It was done in response to 2ch, who did a similar poll earlier to determine the best VGM tracks of all time. There’s A LOT of great music there, and some from some pretty obscure games (so it wasn’t a dumb, mainstream-friendly popularity contest). It’s a fantastic list:

    Link: http://hardcoregaming101.net/vgm/bestvgm2011.htm

But my point is, I remember hearing some less-than-stellar things about this game back in ’98 (or ’99 – whenever it came out). Normally I wouldn’t care, but I downloaded Legend of Mana and hated it, and then realized, “Oh – THAT’S why people reviewed it badly”. So I’m wondering if Chrono Cross’ criticisms hold water after all?

Gonna have to go back and actually read up on the game, I suppose.

    • LiteIndigold

My impression is that some people didn’t like like CC because it wasn’t an obvious sequel to the story and battle system in CT. However, I don’t know much about reviews, but Gamespot gave it a 10, and critic and user scores average 9.2 and 9.3, respectively.

I played Chrono Cross and love it to death, including because of the amazing soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda. It might be my favorite RPG of all time.

  • Joanna

Hmmm, depending on the price, I may pick up Cross on PSN. If it’s at the premium 10$, I’ll just track down a physical copy as the game isn’t rare at all.

how much does a psx game cost on psn? sorry for being a newb.
    ff7 for example?

  • RupanIII

I’m playing FFV from Anthology right now. Grinding for the final battle. I thought it started a little slow, but then it grew on me. I don’t mind the PSX version load times too much, but the save glitch can be annoying. Wonder if they corrected that for the PSN version. I’m always conflicted with these PSN re-releases. I already have the physical discs, but I want to support the classic releases too.
