Virtual Console Strider And Super Street Fighter II Headed To U.S. And Europe

In December, Strider for the Genesis and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers – also for the Genesis – will be released on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan.

Yesterday, Capcom USA announced that both are headed to the U.S. and Europe as well, though no dates have been set as of yet.

As an added bonus, the Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II will include online play. In Japan, both games cost will 600 yen ($6), despite the added online functions for Street Fighter.

Is it me, or does it seem like an eternity has gone by since the last Wii VC release? Anyway, awesome is awesome either way you slice it. Online, too? What?! Even better!

Strider was one of those games that almost made me buy a Genesis over a SNES. Even with how horrible the sound effects or sound was in this game.

I have the original Street Fighter II for SNES and I didn’t realize until I bought the PS2 Anniversary collection that there were multiple versions with characters that I fought but never could play as. lol
