Pokémon “Surprise” Awaits At December’s Jump Festa

Pokémon Surprise Awaits At Decembers Jump Festa

The Pokémon Company will be making their very first appearance at the upcoming Jump Festa trade show in Japan, Serebii.net reports. Today, it was announced that there will be some sort of surprise announcement at the event, but there’s been no mention of just what this is.

 

Before you get your hopes hopes up for a major game announcement, keep in mind that it could very well be related to manga instead, the next movie, a new Pokémon creature, or simply another giveaway (like the recent Mewtwo event).

 

Jump Festa runs from December 17th – 18th. We’ll keep our readers updated on any significant news that surfaces over the next month.

    Get ready for another disappointment straight from Nintendo!
    Im placing my bets on either a redundant Pokemon giveaway or the announcement of another disappointing spinoff (think Pokepark 2 or Rumble Blast) :D

      I guess you missed that, or rather, you didn’t even read the article, did you?

      A redundant Pokemon giveaway? Believe it or not, Pokemon Black/White is still relevant to this day(Even more so in Japan, where the event/surprise is taking place).

      As for a disappointing spin-off, well, that’s your opinion, isn’t it? Just because they don’t give you the game you wanted, doesn’t mean it’s disappointing. 

      Anyway, I wont get my hopes up too much, but I hope it’s another game (◕‿◕✿)

        When I said redundant Pokemon givaway I meant like the recent Snivy giveaway WITHOUT CONTRARY, or the Croagunk with nothing special other than its hidden ability, only to release it at Rugged Mountain anyways, making it pointless. And those spinoffs WERE bad even by my low standards, and it WAS MY OPINION THAT THEY were disappointing, sorry if i didn’t clarify :/. I am also pretty sure that Nintendo never said it WASN’T a game announcement, so yeah…

    Hm… yea, I’d like to think it’s a new game, but Ishaan is right. It could just be something minor.

    I’d really hope that the Pokemon Company’s first ever appearance at Jump Festa is for something bigger than the umpteenth movie or giveaway, though.

    I know it’s a long shot, but I’m still keeping my hopes up for a Ruby/Sapphire remake announcement.

    However, what I actually think the surprise is an announcement for Genesect and/or Meleotta. It seems time for them to be officially unveiled.

    I doubt it’s a manga-related announcement (but on a side note, I’m still waiting for the R/S/E and FireRed/LeafGreen chapters to get released in America!! Come on, Viz Media!).

      That Ruby and Sapphire remake needs to happen.

      Ruby/Sapphire were the worst in the pokemon lineage, and i think a remake is necessary in that they need to be redeemed.

        They need to be remade not because they’re the worst, but because they’re the best! :D

        Besides, they’re not bad. It’s just that they came after GSC, which is considered the best.

          I dont think they are bad, i just dont think they are as good as the others, lol. that is, unless you you reeeeeaaaaly like water pokemon, surfing, and psuedo 2/3D weird graphic.

      Don’t they make a lot of references to Hoenn and RSE in Black/White…?  Kind of like how Diamond/Pearl made references to Johto and GS… just sayin’.

        Yes they did, and the fact that they made an overworld sprite for the Hoenn champion Steven Stone in HearGold/SoulSilver always struck me as odd. Those hit me as definite hints toward a remake.

            Wait, WHAT!? You can battle Steven in HeartGold version?! I thought he only passed out a Hoenn starter and talked about Latios/Latias!

            How do you battle him? He’s one of my favorite characters… I’d definitely want to battle him again.

    id like a pokemon colleseum type game but with gym leaders, catching wild pokemon etc like the portable games i definatly would buy that

      forget it, that wont ever happen and if it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna suck, pokemon battle revolution was only a combat game on the wii and it suck. or that pokepark game

          Yes, I agree. Pokemon Colosseum and XD was very good IMO. A new Pokemon Colosseum or XD like game would be wonderful! Either that or a Ruby/Sapphire remake for the 3DS would be great…….or a Keldeo giveaway would make me happy.

        You cant determine that it will suck. lol. and im pretty sure it will happen eventually. The game industry is changing and they are starting to give consumers what they really want. I dont think theyd ever make a mainstram game on a console but they could very well make a console game thats similar to the main ones. Basically like Pokemon XD, but better. lol.

        Pokemon Colosseum and XD did not suck. Sure not as good as the handhelds, but close. The fact that I had to steal Pokemon instead made me so happy! No more Action Replay at that time. :P The music was upbeat and great as well. You’ll never know what Nintendo and/or The Pokemon Company might do, so it might happen……and if it does happen, I bet it won’t it suck. :3

    Awesome and unexpected announcement -> A full RPG Pokemon for 3DS/WiiU with online components and a new battle system.

        I’d want Snap 2 over a Stadium 3, but I’d like to have both! So long as a Stadium 3 didn’t turn out like Battle Revolution did (that game was so boring…).

        I’m also still hoping for a Pokemon Puzzle League 2, with more recent anime characters (Paul, Barry, Reggie, and Cilan, anyone?).

          Both would be even better. Agreed on BR. I’ve never been so disappointed by a Pokemon game.

          Puzzle League 2 would be amazing too. Man… I think this is the only series that can do spin-offs in completely unrelated genres and still interest me lol.

    Its probably just the announcement of Gray. But I doubt I can wait that long since I havent gotten a 5th gen game yet because I thought I was done with Pokemon. But I keep crawling back. So ill probably just end up buying White and a 3DS around black friday.

    It would be nice if its a new game for the 3DS. However, I’m doubting its Pokemon Grey version since black and white were on DS and Pokemon tends to help sell Nintendo’s handhelds quite a bit. (the 3DS desperately needs help right now too.) That is unless they release a version for DS and 3DS (3DS version more likely having special features that the DS version won’t have.)

      They had Pokemon Crystal be Gameboy Color-only when Gold and Silver were able to be played on the older systems as well, so it’s not like they haven’t done a case of “the game can only be played on the new system” anyway.

        Maybe to you, but its not appealing too well with people of a more “mature” taste i guess you could say.

          I have what I’d like to call a varied taste. lol. I like rated M games and deep storylines, etc, but you cant expect 100% of what YOU want from one console. lol. its always been that way(unless you count CPU, which I dont count as a console, lol).

    Off-topic: Well, this is what happens when you don’t get enough sleep. I read “Jump Festa” as “Chuck Testa”.

    “Hey look, an annoucement of a new pokemon game for 3DS!”
    “NOPE! Just Chuck Testa!”

    On-topic: Better be pokemon grey for 3DS. I’m not gonna hold my breath over this, though.
