Chrono Trigger’s Next Stop Is The iPhone

By Ishaan . November 21, 2011 . 8:30am

Square Enix will be releasing the game on iTunes “before the end of December”. The game will be available in Japanese, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Chinese. Square say they’ll discuss price at a later date.

You can catch a glimpse of Chrono Trigger’s new touch interface in screens below:

    Basically, there’s no excuse not to play this game, with the number of platforms it is going to be available on. That said, I highly recommend it to everyone visiting this site that hasn’t played it yet.

    Love Chrono Trigger but I can see the day coming where the headline will be: ”
    Chrono Trigger’s Next Stop Is… Your Toaster!”

    Yay, a multi-language version at last! (Sounds too good to be true!)
    If I had an iOS device, I’d definitely buy this.

    Haha, no thanks Squenix! You already fooled me with the ios port of Secret of Mana, and that thing controls like ass. I don’t care if CT is turn based compared to SoM.

    Ugh. Those screenshots trigger one of my pet peeves: low resolution graphics with high resolution user interface.

    My next stop is Best Buy 。◕‿◕。

    No, seriously, I need a freakin’ iPhone, too many good ports (>д<)

    I don’t even have the energy to comment on that aspect ratio… blur.. font..

      Yeah it really doesn’t seem like they; or whoever is creating this port, is terribly concerned with the quality opo;

    Hopefully they do something with the menus, because they look terribly out of place T3T; Seriously it crushes me to think people might experience CT for the first time with this T3T;;

    This game is wonderful, and it should be available on as many platforms as possible. That said, it should also be given a bit of special treatment. It looks like they have a smoothing filter on, and there are few things I despise more than smoothing filters. I hope they give the option to turn it off.

    I’m glad I got the DS version for a rather cheap price here in Europe, the game is somewhat rare.

    It’s my third fav game of all time, so that is saying a lot. This game is simply amazing and I just played it the other day, only to get one of the many endings that keep me coming back to this game even after I beat it time and time again.

      I picked it up for full price the day it was released and I’m still glad I got it even though I have seen it going for 20$ a few months later. I love CT and I think it was worth the 40$ price tag I paid (and since I did emulate it before, I wanted to buy it as soon as possible). :3 The DS version is the best version for those without the SNES version, like me. It even includes the PSX bonus anime scenes too~

    i hope square enix don’t charge us $20 for it

    This is all well and good, but that font seriously looks worse than TOTA 3DS…

    In my opinion of course…
