Konami Will Publish New Little Kings Story In Europe, Too

Konami will be publishing New Little King’s Story (yes, that’s the English title) in Europe, they have announced. The follow-up to 2009′s Little King’s Story is slated for release sometime in 2012.

New Little King’s Story is about King Corobo, a 14-year-old king who has to reclaim his kingdom from an invader called “The Nightmare”. You do this by recruiting an army consisting of different classes, including warriors, advisors and more. Since the game is being developed for the PlayStation Vita, you’ll be able to use the touchscreen to control recruits.

You’ll also get to see day-and-night transitions, as well as how the land changes as you turn the tide in your favour and fend off Nightmare’s invasion. New Little King’s Story hasn’t been announced for a U.S. release just yet.

Please don’t give in to the Ninty curse Konami!

I don’t like “new” in titles because it won’t be new years from now.  However as a re-imagining it seems appropriate I guess.

Another kick to the pants that are the United States.  Worst case scenario, at least the Vita isn’t region locked. :(  Europe must be going through some sort of RPG renaissance or something that we aren’t. I still remember the days when we’d get an announcement and then Europe would wonder for years if they’d ever get it…

the lack of a region lock is why most of us won’t care in the slightest.  It’ll be easy to import this if we want it.

Little Kings Story looks so cute and awesome! From the videos I’ve seen, it looks real fun! (^v^)

As for a US release date, I’m sure it’ll come, but if it doesn’t come soon, the Vita is region-free…(◕‿◕✿)

Very glad this is getting an english localization, and hurray for the Vita being region-free just in case this doesn’t make its way over the US!

  • Go2hell66

amazing how many games the US has been missing out on to EU lately, its usually the other way round :/

    • aoihana

In this economy, the EU will be getting a lot more this time around, but I hear ya!

  • Solomon_Kano

God bless Sony for not region locking the Vita. It’s not announced for the US? Okay. Well, I hear they speak English in Europe too…

    • aoihana

Hehe, exactly what I thought! (^v^)

      • Solomon_Kano

Y’know what they say, great minds… something.

YOU BETTER COME TO THE US MOFOS

Cool! Although, I would have chosen “Return of the Little King’s Story” or something along those lines for a title.

yet another must buy game for the Vita… =)

  • theworldofnoboundries

Seeing Vita does not have any region lock problem i can said that i don’t care so much but in the end i will also need to import it here so if it possible Konami, pliz localized it here too.

If not…….. well i will just import it hiks. More damage to my wallet.

We don’t know if it is coming here yet? I was about to ask if there was any news on it’s release here. I really don’t feel like paying a higher price to play it localized due to having to import. But it’s nice that if it does come to that there isn’t region locking which is really nice.

      • theworldofnoboundries

Well i am not in this web for like a week so i probably miss something, but if i remember correctly, it is still not announced for U.S yet.

Sorry for not able to be some help T_T.

Worry not, the answer is in the article.

Heh I somehow missed that tidbit.

Is this new version by anyone from Cing, or any of the original creators?

I’m not a fan of this game, so when I see this I think of Dragonica Online.

Honestly, I’m not surprised it’s only been announced for Europe. If I’m not mistaken XSEED wasn’t too happy with the numbers it did here but Rising Star Games were happy with it’s performance in Europe. Still unsure whether I’ll pick it up given that I have the Wii game and this is the same game with different controls/art, right? I’d be all over a sequel though.

      Here’s a tidbit from famitsu:

According to a summary from Famitsu, the game is said to have a new story with the main character and heroine listed as King Corobo and Princess Apricot. The Vita version features full touch-based controls. The game will also use the system’s power for a visual engine that can show seamless time and weather shifts.
