Watch The Making Of Trine 2′s Playable Title Screen

By Ishaan . November 29, 2011 . 10:00am

If you played the Trine 2 beta, you already know that the game’s title screen is playable. You can’t solve puzzles and jump into the main story right from the title screen, but you can jump around as the Thief, shoot arrows, and learn the controls.

The title screen also changes between day and night, depending on what time of the day it is where you live. It looks just as nice as the rest of the game, and Frozenbyte have put together another of their “making of” videos, which lets you see how it was built. You can watch the video above, and here are a few screenshots, showing the area’s progression as more and more art was added to it:

I haven’t touched any of the Trine stuff, but I think a playable title screen is genius. Very interesting way to teach the player the game, or let the player experiment, without having to spell it out for them.

    Gorgeous lookin’ time lapse too.
