Club Nintendo America Offering WiiWare And Nintendo eShop Titles As Rewards

Club Nintendo in North America just added a bunch of items to their rewards page…and they’re actual games. If you’re a member, you can redeem your coins for download codes for these titles. Prices are as follows:

Fluidity (WiiWare) – 150 coins

3D Classics: Xevious (eShop) – 80 coins

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! (DSiWare) – 150 coins

Super Mario Kart (Wii Virtual Console) – 100 coins

In the case of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, note that while it’s technically a DSiWare game, you can only redeem a download code for it on the Nintendo 3DS, not on a DSi or DSi XL. Something else to keep in mind is that these games are only redeemable from Club Nintendo until January 10th, 2012.

Club Nintendo’s website has been a little wonky for the past few hours. I was trying to register some games and browsing rewards when the site went down. It came back up for a little while shortly after, but went down again just minutes later. A notice says the site is undergoing maintenance, so you might want to check back later if you can’t access it.

Update: After being down for hours of maintenance, the Club Nintendo site seems to be up again, but the game rewards appear to be have been taken down. We’ll keep our readers posted.

Update 2: A Club Nintendo notice states: “New rewards and games available for Coins coming soon. Please stay tuned!”

  • TheMysticalNinja

Heh…the best game on offer is the second cheapest by 20 coins.

The site may be down when you try this, but I was able too. So keep checking back until it comes back online.

  • malek86

I wonder if they have been added by NOE too. Their site is acting up, so it’s possible?

  • http://twitter.com/sheleigha Shel

Wow something I may actually spend my coins on… I personally have to use for everything else they offered, except to maybe sell on eBay (and even there, it didn’t look like stuff sold). If only NoA had soundtracks as cash in prizes, I would be all over them! Been saving my coins just in case it would happen (but this time, I have to spend REAL money just to get the Mario Galaxy soundtrack off eBay :/)

  • Exkaiser

Oh, sweet, I’ve been wanting Minis March Again.

  • LunarKnite

Wow! That’s pretty cheap. Considering I just got that new t-shirt they put up a few weeks ago for like 500 points, 80 or 150 is nothing. Just means I gotta do more surveys. >_<

    • Aoshi00

You got the grey Mario T-shirt?  I just got that too last week :)  lol I do a lot of surveys too.. that’s what I do every time I open a Nintendo game so I wouldn’t forget..  100 coins for Super Mario Kart sounds great, I think I would get that (the big Mario AR card cost 200 :)  So this is the SNES Mario Kart and one of the upcoming free games would be Mario Kart GBA right?

I was able to transfer all my ambassador games last night from one 3DS to another no problem.. so I was relieved, been worried all week.. I guess the site was acting up due to the update and everything?  Xbox Live also had an update on Tues and it was hard to get online..

I’m glad they let you transfer things now, but it’s still not an easy process, limited to 5 times.. and it’s a complete overwriting process, you can’t choose what to transfer, it’s all or nothing.

      • LunarKnite

Chyea I got that t-shirt. I’ve gotten quite a few things over this past year from Club Ninty. One of the folding fans, a set of folders, and the awesome 3 poster set of LoZ. ^_^ Just got my pin set platinum reward too.

Much better than Gamestop’s rewards program…

        • Aoshi00

I know, it’s really quite nice we get to pick so many free gifts.. I’ve gotten like tote bags and DSi pouches.. I think I need the 3 Zelda posters too and frame them :).. oh, my pins just came in the mail too, so awesome.. too bad I missed out on last year Mario & co. statue platinum gift..  but site still down now, will get Super Mario Kart later :)

          • LunarKnite

Yeah, the figurine for last year’s plat reward looked awesome. Though I think the dimensions were a little on the small side. Hope this up-coming year’s is awesome. I think I’m already at gold status.

Ah, that’s pretty awesome! I have tons of coins, but nothing to spend them on… until now!

My SNES copy of Super Mario Kart has been getting kind of finicky as of late, so I’ll definitely be sure to download it when I get the chance.

  • Zonic505

I’ve been wanting the US Club Nintendo to have Wii/DSi (& now 3DS) Points for some time now (Europe has it), but this is just as good. I really hope the library of games you can get from Club Nintendo will increase over time.

I’m gonna get some Mario Kart all up in here once the site goes back up, since I already own Xevious 3D.

Might get Mario vs. Donkey Kong though all things considering.

See? This is what I like to see. I’d much rather use my reward points for games rather than patches or calendars.

…That said, I still want those damn hanafuda cards! 800 coins is so much!

    wheres kid icarus?

  • KaruCgSt

Can i get those codes if im not from Canada/USA ? Because it sucks that i buy original games, get encouraged to register the codes on those pamphlets some games have…and then you notice that the rewards are only available on the countries mentioned above :(

  • GaiunxWolfenX

mmm i want super mario kart too for the 3ds XD, call me silly but balloon battles without time limits are the best just three balloons and pure skill (and luck)

  • thaKingRocka

Even though I’m not interested in any of these games, this is the best reward I’ve seen offered. I redeemed some points for some stupid bag since they were set to expire. I probably spent about 400 bucks to earn enough points for a tote bag likely made for one dollar.

  • daizyujin

Ugh site down for maintenance.  Wonder if it was planned or they didn’t plan on this being that popular.

  • http://twitter.com/Linka13 Linka

The site went back up, and the games are now gone. Maybe they’ve removed them due to overwhelming traffic?

    • http://www.siliconera.com Ishaan

I just noticed the same thing. I wonder if something broke and they had to roll back to the older site…

      • http://twitter.com/Linka13 Linka

I imagine it was a server overload, so they might have rolled back while they fix things and stabilize the server to handle the people who would come on, so services aren’t halted for too long.

Of course, not like this is surprising– whenever Nintendo actually rolls out something big, the force of the internet is enough to take down a website.

        • http://www.siliconera.com Ishaan

Yea, I wouldn’t want to be the people managing that site right now…

      • Joanna

Hm, the games still aren’t up. I wonder when Nintendo will put them back up. I’ve got 600 points stored up and I’d love to get Fluidity (that game has been on my radar for awhile now) and perhaps Mario versus Donkey Kong….

  • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

Well, this is certainly moving in the right direction.  Super Mario Kart alone is worth it.

  • darkraiders

They finally had something good enough to waste my coins on so i waited until the site was back online just to see the games was gone -_-
I hope they will be back soon.

  • Covnam

That’s pretty cool, hopefully it will come back with an even larger selection.

  • puchinri

Aww. I hope they put them back up. With twice the amount of games.
