House of the Dead 4 Crawls Out Of Arcades To PlayStation 3 This Spring

By Ishaan . January 5, 2012 . 8:30am

The House of the Dead 4 has only been available in arcades thus far, but that’s about to change soon. Sega will release House of the Dead 4 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive via PlayStation Network. Prior to that, they’ll release House of the Dead 3. Here’s a trailer for that:

The House of the Dead 3 is slated for release on February 7th via PlayStation Network. House of the Dead 4 will follow sometime in spring. Both games have been updated in high-definition, given trophy support, and PlayStation Move support as well.

      Strangley, I do too.

I miss playing KOF ’97 in the arcades T___T

        Whereabouts? Chinatown?

        • MisterDandylion

Actually, I live in Argentina ( in it’s capital city) and well…. a few years ago there were a few arcades that had those kind of games xD.

          • Gatchaman1

Yeah it seems unless uou live in Asia arcades are dead

Oh man, I was wondering if they’d ever bring House of the Dead 4 to anything.

House of the Dead has to be the only zombie game I’ll even touch. It’s just too ridiculous to be scared of.

  • neo_firenze

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO yes!  THIS is the reason I pre-ordered Overkill.  Very good news.  My Move has now become totally worth it, between Time Crisis and the HotD games.

  • Enma_Kozato

I love House of the Dead (*7*) I beat the first one at the arcade. The workers were impressed with my persistence… and endless wallet.

Finaaaaaally! Hope the short sequel to HotD4 is in it too..

Was 4 much different from the previous games?

i want typing of the dead on psn

    • malek86

You have a machine-gun instead of a pistol, which makes things quite different. Also, a number of grenades.

Otherwise, it’s pretty much the same game as before. I seem to remember it’s not too hard, or at least, I was able to get up to the third boss on my first credit. In HOD2/3 I couldn’t even get past the second level without feeding money to the machine.

“PlayStation Move compatible”? Does that mean it supports other input methods?

    • Jrpgfanatic

Probably, House of the Dead Overkill: Extended Cut had standard controller support, though it’s not near as intricate as a move controller.

I can imagine. Shooting games are better with free cursor-based controls.

No lightgun for PS3?  OH well playing HotD with wii remote was fun so more Move games the better.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Antti-Linden/726693696 Antti Linden

There is a lightgun for the PS3. Namco released the Guncon 3 alongside Time Crisis 4 early in the systems life. I’m hoping Sega has support for Guncon 3 with this.

  • Jrpgfanatic

Alright! Can always use some cheesy “B movie” horror House of the Dead goodness!

It’s too bad they didn’t toss 3 and 4 onto a disc though, would have gladly paid retail price for the two of them in physical form.

  • aoihana

I think House of the Dead games are fun, but they are really disturbing. 。゚(゚ノД`゚)゚。

I haven’t played them in a long time, honestly. Maybe I’ll pick this is up to prepare me for the scarier, more recent games. (◕‿◕✿)

      D2 & Illbleed says hi

      • MisterDandylion

Illbleed: let me get this straight, you go to this amusement park, have the most sadistic and gut-wrenching experience in your life AND if you happen to see the light of day:

You get a 100.000 $ ? COUNT ME IN! XD

  • malek86

If they include HOD1+2 as well, they might actually force me to buy a new PS3 with a Move controller.

  • Learii

is co-op offline or its co-op with online?

  • http://myanimelist.net/profile/Kuronoa Kuronoa

    YES!

  • Luna Kazemaru

Game is fun but I never could understand the plot. IF there is one.

    • AokiShizuku

      You’d be surprised…

  • Nemesis_Dawn

I love light gun games. Thank you, Sega. You’ve helped make my Move totally worth it.

  • thaKingRocka

Oh my god, it’s about damn time. I was just at the arcade last week, and I played a bit of HotD 4, and I couldn’t believe that even after all these years, we haven’t seen more Lindbergh ports. I loved Initial D and After Burner Climax. I want more of this board’s games on consoles. What the hell, Sega?! Get on it. Too Spicy, please. Ghost Squad Evolution, please. Just do them all.

  • TheMysticalNinja

That’s cool Sega, take your damn time why don’t you ¬_¬

  • Testsubject909

You know what I’d love, since I can plug in a USB keyboard to my PS3…

A Typing of The Dead Sequel.
