Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012 PC Patch Planned For Feb

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition recently received the free “2012” balance patch on consoles. The PC version will be updated with this patch in the future as well. Capcom say that they’re aiming to have the 2012 PC patch released by the end of February.

Meanwhile, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition owners are out of luck. Capcom USA Senior VP, Christian Svensson, says there are no plans for a patch for the Nintendo 3DS game.

that’s why i hate portable games. portables always get the shaft when it comes to patches.its a shame and i hope the ps vita will change how these companies update/patch portable games.

I don’t think it’s a question of specific devices here. 3DS can do patches, as can Vita. It’s probably more just a question of balancing their development resources and putting them to work where the active userbase for SSFIV is.

Very true, most of the active 3DS user base is playing mario kart currently, but I still can find matches for this game. Anyway I have prefer a patch that let you play with Elena (seriously only I and another 6 guys/gals likes this character?)

    can the vita apply patches??

I like how the PC version is supposedly the best version out of the console ones (runs great, no lag online, etc) but they are going to make us wait until the END of February. :|

I’d like to see a breakdown of their player base by console. While I personally agree and find the PC version to be the best by far, I’m guessing that the vast majority of their player base (and thus market) would be on PS3/360.

I guess they know that Super Street Fighter Arcade 3D edition 2012 would be a  too long title name to remember.

But this always happen when we buy console launch games.

    don’t worry 3DS owners, it’s capcom we’re talking about.

Oh, wait, it’s capcom we’re talking about, so… wait for another game.

I knew I made the right move trading in my 3DS version of SSF4 when they announced AE.

Well, at least they actually responded that there will be no patch instead of keeping us waiting, so I’m fine. :)

EDIT: Fixed. I put “ready” before instead of “waiting”, which is what I actually meant. -_-

i’m glad the 3ds version dies
make a game 30fps locked, laggy and targeted for casual audience, i can’t stop hating my ssf4 3d

Did you disable 3D in the settings? If not, then you’re not gonna touch a smooth framerate anytime soon.

Don’t worry 3DS owners, Capcom will appease you with a Monster Hunter 3G release.
