Ico And Shadow of the Colossus HD Versions Travel To PlayStation Network

Sony released the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection as a retail game last year, but this week, you’ll be able to buy the HD versions of both games separately on the PlayStation Network in North America.

Additionally, Crysis 2 is being released as a download game over PlayStation Network this week as well, along with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

I’m quite happy owning ICO/SOTC on disc I can understand if some people prefer to have one over the other. Haven’t touched ICO yet but I sure enjoed my time with SOTC.

Opposite for me. I quickly replayed ICO the second I got it. Still amazing. And I can’t believe I actually forgot how to beat some of the Collosi in SotC

Yeah, I would have never paid full retail for the collection but Amazon had it on the buy one get one 50% off so I grabbed it solely for Ico as I found Shadow to be bland, technically deficient and uninspired.

WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN-

    amazing :D

already have the disc versions, but it’s always good for those who want digitally and if sometime in the near future the copy will be rare as hell.

    • BOSSFIGHT

I can guarantee you that the disk version will never be “rare as hell”. You can still find new copies of the original releases easily without an issue. Gamestop and Target brick and mortar still carry new copies of the PS2 version of Shadow.

I remember a sealed copy of Ico PS2 was pretty rare at one time..  but of course now that it’s available digitally it won’t be, just like Radiant Silvergun..   same goes for Chrono Trigger or FF6(3) on the SNES, before all the subsequent re-releases, a copy in good condition w/ box, manual and cartridge w/ no wear & tear (let alone new) was expensive.

Not sure how much each of these would go for, $15-20 I assume? But shortly after the game’s release, it was actually on sale for around $25 in many stores..

I”m spoiled by Konami, hopefully some of these remasters come to Vita.  I tend to prefer console game rereleases on handheld it adds a thin layer of fresh experience seeing a game I love on a different gaming format.

Still a good backup plan, as I doubt this will stay on market much longer.

got this a while ago because EU got the collection last year, never played the games before but they are amazing and the fps comparison of the original shadow of the colossus is huge
