Kirbys Dreamland 2 Introduces Kirbys Animal Friends To Virtual Console

Next week’s 3DS Virtual Console release in Japan is Kirby’s Dream Land 2. The major feature this game introduces over the original Kirby’s Dreamland is three additional characters, who can carry Kirby: Rick (a hamster), Kine (a fish) and Coo (an owl).

Each one has their own unique abilities. Rick can run, Kine can swim and Coo can fly. They also affect Kirby’s abilities.

Kirby’s Dreamland 2 will cost 400 yen ($5), and will be up for download on the Japanese eShop on February 15th.

    I loved this game, so much. Maybe a little more than the NES one, in fact! So much to love here. :D

    The price pretty much sucked compared to classics released on the PSN/LIVE but oh well. I’ve always hated the pricing of those SMB games, so this is an improvement

    Oh… Oh my god. I loved this game SOOOO much when I was younger, but I lost it. Sweet, sweet memories… ; . ;

    I had like 4 Game Boy games, and this was one of them. I played it so much I actually beat it, which was a big deal to 5 year old me. And I just found it within like 30 seconds of looking. Hooray for never throwing things away!

    Well this is Coo.

    I’ve wanted to play this game for so long (especially after playing Dream Land 3), so I really hope this means we’ll see an US release soon enough.

    I miss the animal friends. :(  Dreamland 2 was the best of the handheld Kirby platformers.

    Such an adorable game! It’s a shame Klein was only good for the water; he had some nifty copy abilities!
