This Is What Square Enixs Rebellion Overdrive Trademark Was For

Remember the Square Enix trademark we uncovered last week? It was called Rebellion Overdrive, and we wondered what it could be for. That mystery has now been solved.

 

Rebellion Overdrive is the name of a new episode in Square Enix’s GREE social game, Knights of the Crystals. Above is a screenshot of the game’s official website.

 

This only pertains to the Japanese version, however. In North America, Square Enix recently announced that the English version of Knights of the Crystals — which uses Facebook — will be ending on February 29th.

 

Perhaps Square intend to re-launch the game at a later date with the new updates from the Japanese version? We aren’t sure. At least the trademark mystery has been solved.

    The people of Square-Enix must REALLY love their Final Fantasy logos. Crystal Defenders has the same type of logo.

    When Knights of the Crystals first started on Facebook, my sister and I played it a lot. Then they did a complete overhaul of the job system and some other things in mid-2010; pretty much what they did was make it so you had to spend more time doing tedious crap every time you used it in order to keep up. Frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t shut it down sooner, as I’m sure I’m not the only one that stopped playing at that point.

      Same here. Used to play it and then they made their changes; as you said: “…tedious crap”. Taking two lower classes and levelling them up to 30 EACH just to merge them; certain items unavailable to perform tasks needed to spend money with no way of obtaining them in a lower quantity. Stop playing once I found out it was going to stop.

    I saw the blonde character on the front page and thought we might be getting a Radiant Historia sequel that follows Stocke on a bad hair day.

    Then I actually read the headline and the article itself. Disappointed in more ways than one.

      I would like to see a RH sequel which focuses on Stocke having a bad hair day. I don’t even know why I’d want that. But I want it. :>
