You Can Grab DariusBurst: Second Prologue For Your iPhone Today

By Ishaan . February 9, 2012 . 12:30pm

Last month, Taito announced DariusBurst: Second Prologue for iOS platforms, and today, we know a little more about the game. Second Prologue is based on Darius Burst for the PSP, along with elements of DariusBurst: Another Chronicle, which was an enhanced arcade port of DariusBurst. You can watch a Japanese trailer for Second Prologue below:

Like Cave’s iOS shoot-em-ups, DariusBurst: Second Prologue has a new phone-specific mode called “SP mode,” as well as the original game under Original mode. SP mode features new enemy placement and revised boss battles, as well as the Assault ship from the arcade version. The game also features four new music tracks from music team, Zunata.

DariusBurst: Second Prologue is out now on the iPhone and iPad. It costs $11.

It looks pretty fun, but sadly, I lack an iOS device. Although, that doesn’t stop from playing Darius Burst on the PSP! (^v^)

When it says iPhone and iPad, does that include the iPod Touch, too? I realize it’s not mentioned, but often, it’s compatible, too. Unless there’s a GPS feature, or something(I recall a Gundam iOS game?). (✿`_´)ゞ

Anyway, sounds great! I hope whoever plays it enjoys it because it looks fun! (◕‿◕✿)

Wait, this got localized but not the PSP version? WTF?

Why is that so strange? The cost of publishing on iPhone is lower than on traditional consoles. PSP releases, especially, are suicide, unless you’re sure you’ll hit your target numbers.

I imported the PSP version, and it’s totally worth it.  There’s not a shred of dialogue, except for the endings, which I’m sure you will be able to get on youtube in English at some point.  They seem insignificant to the enjoyment of the game in this case.

Personally, I adamantly refuse to buy phone versions of any SHMUP games.  While the game is nowhere near as difficult as some Cave games, it would likely be too hard without a d-pad or an analogue stick.  I hope Cave makes the Vita into a viable SHMUP platform…

Seems fun, but the soundtrack sounds a little weak. Perhaps it´s just not my style.

Still, it does look like a good game for the Iphone and Ipad. I hope other devices get the chance to port this in the future.

Zunata has always done the soundtrack to most of the Darius series. It’s really always been a case of like it or hate it with there stuff; although the music tends to instills some nostalgia either way >w<'

I see, I´ll go check some of his/her other works.
Thanks for the info. I didn´t know that the composer was well known among fans of the series, now I know.

        Chorus.-”G.I JOOOOOOE”

That looks like a good Shootem-Up’s. Paying $11 for it isn’t bad but I don’t have a Iphone.

rar, Darius was one of the first series to really get me into shmups owo’ And I did give Darius Burst a shot on PSP awhile back, it was alright, not as good as G-Darius though. Stages like most of the Darius series were pretty mediocre, but the boss fights themselves was where burst shined, it was enjoyable owo’

But after playing it just felt overwhelmingly that I had move onward from the series on a certain level T3T’ But that being said, someday, I’d love to play any of the Darius series on one of the giant widescreen arcade units TwT’
