Update: Siliconera reader, Chris Taran, points out that the glass shard-type shapes in the image above match the logo for Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka  Arena (below).

    I was actually hoping to hear of Golden confirmation before Ultimate… but knowing Atlus USA now I’d say they want to tease both. >_>

    Atlus’ US branch wouldn’t announce P5, problably it’s Mayonaka Arena, and since it’s going to release before The Golden it makes sense to announce it first.

    That awesome moment when you keep waiting for another Atlus email >D

    I wouldn’t mind at all if it was Mayonaka Arena.  I’m not a big fighting game fan since I’m usually pretty terrible at them, lol, but I enjoyed Dissidia and I think I’d enjoy this. :)

    atlus is loosing it’s priorities/touch whatever u wanna call it, they’ve wasted way too much time/development on the nintendo ds smt games an all the various near worthless persona milking (on psp mainly) ect it’s just disgusting almost.

    to think in that time we could have already had a brand new digital devil saga game/spinoff or whatever on 360/ps3, (yeah thats what us real smt fans want atlus)

    and SMT 4…..damnit.

    it’s a shame, but hopefully they will redeem themselves in the near future….an give us what we want.

    we’ll see.

      Persona is Atlus’ money-making series, though. Of course they’re gonna push it, because times are tough for developers everywhere (and particularly in Japan). If this game does well, it’s more revenue for Atlus and thus the chances of an SMT5 are raised. Not sayin’ you should purchase the game if you aren’t interested in it, just don’t get annoyed by Atlus releasing games you don’t want. And frankly, if you count ‘em up, Atlus have released far less Persona games than non-Persona games over the decades!

      Okay one word Index/Atlus really don’t care about NA it all about Japan dude!!!!
      SMT plus the spinoffs are from japan they make money on japan not on West so you can’t say they are losing money in the west yeah but on Asia especially Japan no!!!
      Remember that!!

    Am definitely not buying this unless they add either more characters OR Demifiend/Raidou/SMT 1/2 protag, any of those.

      It’s a Persona fighting game, not a Shin Megami Tensei fighting game. What do you expect?

        That’s the problem, I like Persona, I like Persona 4. But I don’t like it anime + 3 different games at once like it.

        They’re going to have to offer a little more than a tiny freakin’ roster of 8 characters for me to indulge.

          If you don’t like it there is a game a called mugen a fighting game creator ask some on the internet to create a a character of your choice in there that solve the problem!

            That’s like saying “Don’t like this game? MAKE YOUR OWN.”. No, that’s EXACTLY like saying that.

            Besides that, all I’m saying is that Atlus won’t receive my measly 40 bucks for this game if I don’t deem it worthy of my, again, measly 40 dollars.

    I thought they will announce Persona Collection(P1,P2:IS,P3(P3P or P3FES) and P4G) for the Ps3(Maybe Xbox360)……..

    It’d be great if they’re releasing it here :D It might not be something I’d buy right away, but it’d definitely be something I’d want to play….a few times?
    It’s clever how they used to logo shards, though…but who knows, maybe it’s not actually what we think it is…hm.
