How Pawns Can Assist You In Dragon’s Dogma

Pawns have different abilities in Dragon’s Dogma, and also different ranks. As you take on tougher enemies, you can either build your existing pawns up to aid you in battle, or rent newer and tougher pawns in exchange for Rift Crystals. The second option won’t be cheap, Capcom say in a new trailer that shows off a few different pawn abilities:

Dragon’s Dogma is slated for release on May 22nd. The game will come with a demo code for Resident Evil 6, which Xbox Live users will be able to access on July 3rd and PlayStation Network users will be able to grab on September 4th.

Depending on where you pre-order Dragon’s Dogma from, you’ll also get access to different bonuses, such as additional Rift Crystal and higher level pawns or better weapons and armour.

  •  The max level is 199. Devs have said you cant achieve it on your first gameplay, though, so we’ll likely have a NG+

  •  You can constantly change pawns through the rift (except your “main pawn”). The other 2 paws are what other people have made their own main pawns like. You can sort them based on gender, class, name and check what they know and what they doesnt know, which quests they’ve done and so on. Pawns with levels below your main level doesnt cost anything, and pawns with higher levels do. So you should probably rent pawns 2-3 levels higher than yours so that they can have higher time value. After you reach their level, go to the rift and search for another pawn or just “check” to see if that pawn has actually leveled up playing with their own master in the meantime.

  •  No co-op, except trading your main pawns around. It’s funny enough IMO, as you can teach them a lot of you want/think and how you play battles.

  •  Awesome info, thanks!
