Xseed Will Publish Way of the Samurai 4 In North America As A Download Game

Xseed have reveal what their mystery game tease was for—Way of the Samurai 4, Acquire’s 19th century action-adventure samurai game for the PlayStation 3. They’ll release it as a downloadable title on PlayStation Network, and announced the game along with this…screenshot:

Way of the Samurai 4 starts you out as a masterless samurai whose features you can customize before the start of the game. Once you begin playing, you’ll take part in a war between three factions, but also take on odd jobs like trimming hedges and delivering love confession letters. You can also earn some cash by flirting with foreign women.

The game also has a karma system, by which your actions in your present game will influence your next playthrough. For instance, if you manage to convince the shogunate to open a school for foreign languages, you’ll be able to talk to the Jet Jenkins, visiting foreigners, in your next game.

Way of the Samurai 4 is being published by Rising Star Games in Europe. We once asked them if they would publish the game in North America as well, but were told: “no comment”. Now we know why! The game is scheduled for release in North America sometime this summer.

Quick update: We forgot to mention that the game will be a download title.

I’m 21+, completely broke, and unable to find a job at the
moment. I might have enough money stored away to get this game if DD
makes it cheaper. So, I’m sorry the lack of a fancy plastic case gets
your knickers in a twist, but I’d prefer to be able to afford this game and still eat. Even when I manage to get a job, which will, hopefully be soon, I’d still rather not pay ‘top dollar’ if I can get it cheaper.

But there’s still the possibility that this will still come with a $60 pricetag, in which case… hey, whatever does it for ya.
