Doujin comedy adventure, Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, was supposed to be released on February 22nd, but Nyu Media pushed the game back to an unspecified date just prior to its expected release. Now the game has a new release date—April 27th.

You’ll be able to grab the game from its official website, Steam, GamersGate, GameTap, GameFly, Impulse and the Capcom Store for $8. If you haven’t kept track of the game, you can read up on it here or at the official site.

I’ve personally decided to pass on the product, after buying Exceed collection and waiting for this game.

I personally see it as Yakuza 1 all over again.  Translating a niche game for the mass market.  I HOPE they didn’t spend the money that Sega did for Yakuza, but I just don’t see the mass getting this game.  Remember, the Ace Attorney games had the power of the DS behind it.

Not that I want Nyu Media to fail.   I hope to be proven wrong and that they succeed. I REALLY appreciate them being so upfront and honest with the changes (more companies need to do this), however I also hope they release a “Director’s Cut” later.

PS – I have no problems with translating the jokes to cater to a more American Audience, I just think changing the settings and names were unnecessary.

At the risk of mentioning a potential competitor, I think they should have aimed more for Carpe Fulgur’s Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale rather than Capcom’s Ace Attourney.
